Evan is the best WFAN host and best Mets podcast. He’s so on the ball and correct in everything he says. Maybe it’s just because I am usually thinking everything before he says it and I like to be confirmed right. lol. But it’s not just that. It’s bc everything he says makes logical sense and he’s not talking out of his ass. I really appreciate that. Even a few times when I didn’t agree with him at first, I always eventually realized that he was right. We need to keep this guy around. He’s so valuable to Mets fans.

Trade Idea !!!!!!!! Call Toronto and give them Baty, Mc Neil, Mauricio and Azocar, for Vladdy before the Blue Jays lose him for nothing. Lock him up for the next 8-10 years. Baty could grow next to Bichette, and Gimmenez. They could sign Pete to complete their new infield. McNeil would be a swiss army knife utility guy that could back anyone up in the infield and start in left fielld or be their star pinch hitter. Mauricio can be their future. Meanwhile we start the season with a lineup like this: Ss Lindor Cf Nimmo 3b Vientos Lf Soto 1b Guerrero C Alvarez Dh Marte Rf Taylor 2b Acuna Bench: Siri, Torrens, Winker, De Los Santos Six man Rotation: Senga, Montas, Peterson, Megill, Blackburn and Holmes Bullpen: Nunez, Butto, Brazoban, Reid-Foley, Young Closers: Garret and Diaz (This was before the 2 new pitchers were signed, guess Spring training will work that part out or they're going on the forty man roster.

Cohen is gonna bring Pete back he knows the fans want him back and he's still in the prime of his career. Alonzo could bounce back and have another monster season. Especially with Soto and Lindor both in the lineup. Pete's gonna see some strikes. He's homegrown and the best power hitter they've ever had. It would hurt moral in both the players and the fans to lose him.

Vientos is a fine young player but might not post an OBP of .300 playing in Seattle. The Mariners would be reluctant to surrender value for a player whose breakout season was preceded by two partial seasons of negative fWAR. Just as Luis Castillo's numbers would be hurt by leaving Seattle's T-Mobile Park, Vientos' numbers would be hurt with a move to Seattle.

With all the wheeling and dealing Alonso will end up not being available because the Mets are playing it too cool and we could very well end up with Anthony Rizzo at 1B which in reality is not too bad considering all the players that won't be around when and if they make their move.

Vladdy Jr. is absolutely better than Pete and I like Pete a lot. Vladdy Jr. numbers are closer to Soto than Vladdy Jr. to Pete. Look at batting average 🤯. Pete can’t even consistently hit .270 each year. How can he protect other players with that batting average?

Vladdy Jr last season was worth more wins than Pete has been over the past two seasons combined. He’s entering his prime, Pete has been in decline for two years running.
