Was there when it arrived in spring 1969. Emigrated on the old Queen Elizabeth 1 February 1968.

I wish I could have traveled on the QE2 . I did get to do a wonderful transatlantic crossing on the QM2 & the suite was fantastic but the food was UGH !!!

Michael Neel she really did belong to another era even in the latter years of her seagoing career. I was a child passenger between 2003 and 2008 inclusive with my parents on our annual voyages. I hope to visit her in Dubai but it will be a visit of mixed emotions for family reasons and because she isn’t an active ship anymore.

I wished that Cunard had maintained her original exterior profile and original fittings. When Dubai bought the ship, it killed my interest with the QE2 because the new owners would keep the ship as is instead of renovating her interiors to its 1969 design...
