New York Rangers by no means dominated this game as the Florida Panthers put on a ton of pressure for a lot of this game the Rangers still managed to pull off the overtime victory. Rangers are currently up 2-1 in this Eastern Conference Finals matchup as Alex Wennberg got the game-winner.

While as a Rangers fan, I'm glad Trouba will not be missing any games. As a fan of hockey, I have to admit Trouba crossed the line with the play. It was clear that trouba held his elbow out but he didn't throw it into Rodriguez's face, however, Rodriguez kind of just ran into it. This is why players say you need to have your head on a swivel, Rodriguez never took his eyes off of the puck and kept his head downward so he had that coming.

The reason the Rangers won game 2 is because the Panthers lost to the home ice, not really the Rangers themselves. Off camera the Panthers kept falling down due to how bad the Garden ice is. Igor needs to learn to let go of his anger when the other team tries to get under his skin. It still leads to Igor losing his focus and Florida is attempting to take advantage of that weakness of his. If Florida's defense hasn't been as bad as it's been, then the Rangers would be down bad in this series. Sometimes getting angry helps players but it actually hurts Igor's performance. While I don't blame Igor for getting mad at players messing with him, I do blame him for letting his anger get the better of him which effects his game in a negative way.

Chytil really made us better getting out of our zone and holding puck in deep in game 2. I think with the short turnaround between Friday and Sunday he seemed slowed and fatigued. Really looking forward how he plays tomorrow. I’m guessing he will have a strong game.

The Rangers "Stars" are only Stars in the regular season. Panarin and Mika are pulling their Houdini acts once again in the playoffs. They cant play their style in this type of atmosphere. Im a HUGE Mike Gartner fan but Neil Smith the Ranger GM back in 94 got rid of him at the trade deadline for the same exact reason and traded him for Glenn Anderson (Who was over the Hill). The "Flashy" guys just dont fare well in the playoffs. Panarin's "Barry Sanders" moves of Shake n Bake are completely worthless at this time of year. The Rangers need to be Faster and more physical and they just dont have the roster to do it. Miller is HUGE but he plays like Willie Huber and doesnt hit hardly anybody for reasons I dont know.

It’s heartening that we’re up 2-1 despite our top guys not really showing up, no power play goals, and undisciplined play. Also, Florida has dominated for long stretches of play without scoring. I’m a tremendous fan of the Rangers, and I do a lot of analyzing. When I go to a hockey game, I prefer to sit higher rather than lower because I like to see how plays develop, and the positioning of each player. With that being said, I can’t help but be overly critical of Trouba and Miller. Not only are they a bad duo in this series, but they’ve been exceptionally bad since the start of the playoffs. Miller, with his height, and reach, should be clearing out the front of the net at all costs. When he gets the puck, he never seems to know what to do with it, he constantly gives it away and when he tries to clear the defensive zone, he either gives the puck up or ices it. And on top of that, he almost always seems to be making backhand shoveling passes. He might as well become a right handed shooter, because he seldom makes passes on his forehand. Trouba on the other hand, is another liability out there. He’s been constantly taking senseless penalties, and it’s hurting the team. Also, another liability. I personally think they should sit at least one of them or both, and bring up Zac Jones and/ or Chad Rwuedel. As the series moves on, it’s only going to get more intense, and if they make it to the final round, they’ll only hurt the team more and more.
