This reminds me of the medieval festival and the Shakespeare tour at the fort in Oslo Norway. Loved those like Christmas Eve. The festival moved to the fort and wasn't very good after that and Shakespeare co hasn't been back after the pandemic.... I'm having a bit of abstinence now.... Lovely kitty❤️ With PU leather - cut of wiggly bits.paint with textile paint let dry and put on shoe polish....the slightly stiff and firm kind out of metal tins...with a finger( wear a single use glove? Remove excess with soft shoebrush

I have been going to the NY Renaissance faire with a group of friends since 1993. Every year in a completely new costume, and we used to go twice per season and at other smaller Renaissance faires in NY that no longer exist. I stopped going for two years due to COVID. I did go back last season for the first time in a while, dressed as a cartoonishly large Viking/barbarian. This year I will be a Deer Satyr as opposed to the goat versions found in Greek mythology. I have a pair of Demonia 4" platform boots I will be wearing that will have hooved feet covers added along with padded fur legs over them to hide the boots. By the way your costume was really awesome. I loved it and you looked great! I could definitely see the Tim Burton comment clearly expressed in your overall look.

Hi! So about the boots - things like this happened to soo many of my fake leather shoes and jackets, and the thing that always works for me is cutting off the residual hanging parts of the leather and then putting some black nail polish onto the light patches and then tapping it in with your finger so it blends and glues together the black and light parts! It makes it look better and helps to prevent further damage! Hope this helps 🖤

I always fix my shoes with liquid latex in black, got my big bottle from the larp shop - they use it for weapons :D If you powder it down it's also matt and kinda flexible so no PU shedding. I rlly should go to a medieval faire - thank you for the nice video and you outfit was purrfect!

A few years ago when I went to the Ren Feat in Dayton, Oh with 2 of my female friends (my first time attending) as soon as we got there (literally at the gates) a fella dressed as a Deadpool/Bob Ross mash up loudly said "Oh thanks God! The Goths have arrived!!" Lol

I am crying blood looking at the wonderful things you saw at the event. You have no idea how lucky you are, here in Argentina, medieval events are very simple and there is not much difference between pure medieval themes, fantasy, steampunk, etc. I finally meet your partner! I wish you as always the greatest happiness ♥ And as for the cat, I could be talking to her and petting her all day ♥ She's Too Beautiful! ♥ The person who told you that you look like a Tim Burton character is 100% right ♥ I think that the leather of your boots is not the best, I already had boots with that material and they do not last at all. Whenever you buy clothes, especially shoes, make sure the material is good. Do not go only for aesthetics, or the same thing will happen to you again. Take them to a shoemaker and have them fixed for you, there is no other option. Maybe I can put a patch on it that looks good.

I always just re-glued the pieces of PU that has pulled up (if it's still on there) and then with any missing pieces I would color it in with a sharpie.

Wow I went to the Renaissance fest once when I was 15, I'm turning 47 soon so it's been awhile and I still have a necklace I got as a souvenir that I still wear. From the looks of it it's pretty much as I remember 🥰

I miss Ren Faires!!😫 They don’t have any near Toronto anymore😭💔 We took our Son when he was 2, & he ran around in a patchwork onesie & fairy wings, blowing bubbles with a fairy wand the whole time! The year after, we dressed him up in a hobbit inspired outfit (with sandals though), & everyone there loved him to pieces🥰 That same little hobbit fairy is turning 21 this year!😁❤️

For the backs of the boots I would suggest flexible flex tape glue, so in the seams to push the shredded parts into the glue (they do make it in black) with a shoe horn for boot "throats" that’s all I can think to call them, and put a pice of wax paper over it and the front and form some electrical tape to hold in place so it doesn’t drip or malform (electrical tape is less sticky than regular tape or if you have some painters laying around) and cure for a bout a day, it will look a little odd but should keep the heel from cracking and peeling off completely.

Hi Heather, re your boots. You know those weird infomercials for Flex Seal? They make black tape called Flex Tape. It's available easily, especially at Lowe's and Home Depot. Just be careful you'll need a very sharp blade to trim it to size. I've used it to patch all kinds of things, it holds up. Good luck & much luv for Kitty.

Omg I neeeeeeddd. I really need to make going to one a priority. My one and only time at a Rennaissance Faire was a class trip in high-school. No dressing up and my friend and I missed the birds of prey exhibit, though I've seen them before at zoos and as their own exhibitions because my dad loooovves prey birds. This looks like sooooooo much fun. I really must commit to it next year. It will be easier to choose an outfit as well if I figure out the theme.

Last time we went, it started pouring during the birds of prey. I like all the steampunk here.and those contests. Lines too long to enter. Always someone fully decked out with real metal in their costumes and put on quite the show during judging though my fake metal hands are pretty cool. Our fairs are in late summer. Probably same groups and vendors traveling around the country. Fake leather just don't last and dry rots easy. I try to go with the real thing. I have leather coats from the 80s in good shape. I can't see out of my plague doctor mask though wore it for a bit while shopping.🤣They said you need a mask.🤣The looks were precious.🤣. Kids from the community college down the road passing by probably thought I was weird wearing it to go down and across the road to get the mail. Okay so a RL troll at times. Revenge for the drunk ones nearly running me over drunk. Had 2 land in my ditch so far.
