Not to mention income taxes will take easily over 1 million of that award to begin with.

@@ioasisyumichexactly. I wish him the best and hope his legal team will refer him to some organizations that help with him transitioning back into society. but he lost good working years and is now closer to retirement. He had a 16 period with no salary which will affect his SSI at the least. A lot of people who invest early can retire with a 401k in the millions- its not as rare as the commenter makes it sound. it’s not as impressive either when you have to account for increased cost of living, medical expenses and in this case the man will need lots of therapy. In addition , we don’t know what portion of the amount awarded will have to go towards legal expenses and any other costs incurred during this nightmare.

5.5 million is a joke, for what this man has been through, they should take the pensions of those that put him there.

Finally he gets some justice. The author said the injustice the man suffered, what, the injustice you committed by wrongfully accusing him! Smh. Demonic people.

Every person who was involved in this injustice needs to serve time in jail. Happy that Broadwater was exonerated!

Alice Sebold bore false witness against Anthony Broadwater, so she should pay him with her own money, too! Let her at least give the good exoneree all the gross earnings from her book where she wrongly accused him...multiplied by 16 years. On top of that, her publisher should pay twice as much...or more.

And they are still trying to salvage he book - ridiculous. The woman who accused him needs to make reparations.. absolutely sickening that she will probably continue to benefit from this disgusting stituation.

Not enough money, he should have 1 million for every year he spent in jail .. the courts need to stop rushing to judgements and start looking at the evidence.

100 million a year for the rest of his life!! And they would still have to owe him; this man can't get his life back.

Wishing Mr. Broadcaster every bit of blessings and goodness in his life. Just wondering if that woman who falsely accused him will face charges .
