My husband and I are going on a trip to the UK soon and since we've never even been out of the US we decided to book a tour of the UK and Ireland. I've never flown at all and one of my biggest anxieties is that I will hate all the clothes I'm taking. LOL I packed all practical outfits and that really isn't my vibe. I'm going to feel sooo plain but oh well I am so super excited about the trip. 🙂

I’m just now watching your video and hearing your airport story. I’m so annoyed at that guy that did that to you. Don’t ever tell anyone where you’re staying either - I am just being your second mom ! That was completely inappropriate for him to do that. I’m so distrusting of men when they see young pretty girls. Please stay safe while in NY but have the best time and make wonderful memories. Ok now I’m going to watch the rest of it 😀

The airport story is quite funny, but I would report that man. He is a figure of authority to whom some people may feel too intimidated to say no and he may be misusing his authority in many other instances.

Completely agree. I had a similar experience a few months ago on the train with an agent who started to get really pushy when I refused to "give him a pretty smile". He started asking questions like "who are you going to see when you get there oh your mom, what does she do for a living ?". I spoke loud enough for people around to hear and said that we didn't owe them any kind of familiarity, that they were free to open and search my bag as thoroughly as they wanted but that was it. People started to stare and a woman defended me so they just left. I hate that these agents feel so entitled to treat passengers (and a very often women) so badly and ruin a perfectly normal trip because they need to soothe their frustrated little ego. Sometimes there's nothing you can do because they can really put you in trouble but jeez.

Report him! I had an experience as I was just about to walk out of the doors, this occurred in (Athens) Greece by the way a customs agent pops out of a side office and stops while other people are walking by like I had a target on my back. He asked me how much money I am bringing into Greece. I responded with ‘it’s none of your business’, went on to request his name and identification, he proceeded to bring me to the wall where the rules were, which of course I took pictures of. I asked why did he pick me at least a dozen people had already passed by us at this point. I definitely would never let him check my bag. He wanted to know how much cash I am bringing into the country. I told him I had less than $1500 euros on me. That was it. It’s such bullshit. You guys are way too nice!!! There’s nothing that stops you from tape recording the situation. There are too many creeps out there power tripping!!!!

@katehutchins you definitely need to report him, that is completely inappropriate behaviour in a setting where he is going through your personal belongings. Also that story about the sex toys? Ummmm no, he is in his workplace, that can be considered sexual harassment as there is no reason for him to be sharing that with you and then asking you for your number. Gross I understand he found you attractive & wanted to take you out or something (who wouldn’t!), but using his position and the way he went about it is completely unacceptable and creepy. I’m sure you’re not the only one he’s pulled this move on either……

Please report the creepy “can I have your number?” security guy! There are SO many who use their power and authority to credibly get people into a room on their own or threaten them with detainment etc etc. It was really inappropriate of him and women should be able to go through security without being propositioned
