I’m from GunHill..we get a really bad reputation from people but if you’re from my hood,even if you’re not from The Hill or White Plains Rd..you can still pull up and pass through and nothing will happen to you..I grew up in The Bronx and Mt.Vernon and the same thing with MV/“The Ville” you’re good as long as you don’t start trouble or look for trouble

Mt.Vernon is a mixture of a lot of different people. Black African Americans/Jamaicans/Portuguese/Italian/Irish/Puerto Rican/Dominican/Whites it depends on where you are but everyone lives together

What sucks is that Mount Vernon has looked the exact same since the 1980s. The only focus on the infrastructure of Mount Vernon, is in Crestwood and Fleetwood, and Sandford blvd. Where the Target shopping center is. It's located RIGHT next to the Hutchinson River Pkwy, so people can shop, and get outta Mount Vernon, without seeing anymore of it, and spending money with the actual RESIDENTS, who own small businesses. It's the epitome of disenfranchisement and unbalanced segregation.
