His off-season improvements were pretty awesome, he had the speed, power, and defense last year, he just needed to be more patient and make contact more consistently. And he's done exactly that. He could be a mainstay for years.

Stanton this month is batting .250 with 11H 4HR 11RBI. Not to mention he's had at least 1 hit in 7 of this 10 games this month. Coming into this season most of us didn't have him producing much. Quietly he's tied for 2nd on the team in HR, 3rd in OPS, 3rd in RBI and 3rd in SLG. He's still a threat in the lineup.

He'll catch fire again and hit like 10 HRs in a 2 weeks span. But don't be surprised if he goes ice cold and strikes out like 15 times in a week lol
@post-leftluddite6 ай бұрын
Yeah, but I feel like most of Stanton's production comes at the times the team needs it least, like when he hit that solo HR the other night when we were already up by 6 runs or the two run HR tonight when we were already up by 4 runs

We can talk all day about the obvious factors, like Judge and Soto, but it's the unexpected performances that are really tying this team together, Gil and Poteet on the mound, Trevino is having an above average year at the plate, Verdugo has exceeded what most of us expected. A couple of stars can only do so much, the really great teams get contributions from the little guys too.
@KTF06 ай бұрын
Treviño is having a low key good year. Might not make the ASG because of Salvy and Rutshmann (who both deserve it), but, he's on pace to be better than his All-star year.

Hey Dan what happened to the YES Network... I don't know how I feel about the commentator... bring back Michael Kay and Paul O'Neil
@robbarbieri86766 ай бұрын
@mark 6258.... Obviously, this is the YES Network, but yeah, Kay does seem to take a lot of time off during the season. Probably so he can never miss his radio gig in NY, which may very well pay more than this. When Kay's not there, Paul isn't either. I seem to recall that when I was growing up, Messer, White and Rizzuto did almost every game, at least until Scooter didn't want to go on the extended road trips.
