With how complex and inaccessible video editing has been historically, it’s nice to see that KZbin is taking steps to make editing free and available for anyone on mobile. This is a very simple editing suite for sure, but it looks like a good starting editor for anyone who’s curious about making videos, but can’t justify paying huge sums of money for Premiere, Final Cut, or VEGAS. I do hope KZbin makes a desktop version of this app eventually, which would allow them to add a wider range of editing features and make the transition to the more common editing suites easier for new creators, but for now, mobile’s a great start

@@da_pwo they show key frames in the video, but they don’t show what exactly can be done with them. Keyframes themselves aren’t that special, what is special are the effects that can be controlled with key frames. Basic motion effects like translation, scaling, and rotation obviously, but also additional effects like color grading and what have you. Keyframes themselves are nothing more than markers, it’s what you do with them that makes them special

I have been editing videos for 3 years now. I tried it out, it is definitely a step in the right direction since it will help so many creators develop basic editing skills and give them a standard place to start. It has everything you need to make a decent video with the added bonus of direct access to yt audio library and auto generated captions in english, hindi and spanish. This means more creators being able to make videos without the extra steps of looking for copyrightfree music and downloading + importing it into the editing app, as well as helping more people easily create videos that are accessible to hearing impaired viewers. There is no keyframe or chromakey feature (which seems fair, most beginners would not be using it) and I am slightly iffy about the cutout effect but overall, youtube team nailed this!! Great work, proud to be on this platform :)

The application is interesting, you can edit videos on your phone or tablet right on the road. There are many different functions, everything works well and fast. I would just like more export settings to choose the resolution, frame rate and bitrate of video, audio, codecs. I understand that this may be difficult for some devices, but it may be possible to do this as an experimental feature with a warning about possible risks. Overall, I am very happy with this app and recommend it. Thanks! I continue to follow the updates.

It’s a great idea. Especially having access to copyright free music. One feature I’m struggling with is End Screens. Can’t do them in mobile apps yet. And the desktop version is tricky to use on a phone. Please add that feature to Studio.
