Hello all, welcome back to my beekeeping journey! Well, obviously having no chance at all to record the moment I took off the box due to poor wet weather, I took the super off in a quick fashion and runs back to car but still got wet after all.
Then waited for like few hours till rain finally stopped, to drive to the extraction plant and drop the super off and headed back home - everything is just happened so quickly. So I go back to site for collection 2 days later.
With the bottling and extraction done, our honey is safe to hit to market place for sale! Exciting moment for me!
Basic rule of thumb to follow, if you ever wanted to sell your honey in NZ, there are some food safe/food act rule we must follow.
Get your honey extract in an approved and licensed kitchen (at least NP1 category)
Sign a harvest declaration form onsite
Extracted honey must also be jar or bottle in an approved and licensed kitchen
Follow the labelling law as there are few essential items must be label on your sticker including clear indication of 'Honey' wording, batch number, best before date, business address, contact details, weight info, nutrition facts and so on...
