I live in Chicago and was at one of the finals games and Michael walked down the side of the court and I was in the 9th row and I stood up and said “MICHAEL!” and he turned around to me and smiled and waved. Best day ever 🙌🏼

I was born and raised in a suburb of Portland, Oregon. All the Blazer fans were greatly upset that Portland passed over Jordan. We knew that, with him, and the rest of the team like Drexler, Kersey, and Porter, we’d have won all the championships that Jordan helped the Bulls win. It’s still a sore subject with the fans 39 years later.

I tell people that Jordan played in 91, 92, and 93, and all three years they won the championship. He retired in '94 and the Bulls didn't win. He comes back out of retirement at the end of the season in '95 and they didn't win. He's back for the full seasons of '96, '97, and '98, and they win all 3 years. He retires again and they lost since then. How does that not show how great Jordan was.

I got to see Jordan, Pippen, and Rodman play live. I'm from Chicago, so I watched his career from about 1987 on since I was born in 1982. He was the best!!

Michael is 6'6". I also saw him play live at the United Center and it was magical. We had floor seats beneath one of the baskets. At one point, Jordan nearly jumped over a defender to dunk. There has never been anyone like him and I doubt there will ever be another.

I saw MJ when he was in college at North Carolina..I was only 7 years old but remember it like yesterday..he was killing anyone. Also watched him on TV live in the Finals of 1991, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98..he and The Bulls were 25-1 in playoffs series from 1991 to 1998..the most dominant player I've ever seen period.

I live in New England and I'm a huge fan of the Celtics. I grew up with my favorite player Larry Bird. Larry is one of the greatest players to have ever lived. Larry may be my favorite, but Michael is the greatest to have played. I am so grateful I was able to witness his years for North Carolina to Chicago. He was truly amazing!!!!

Funny thing was I had the honor of meeting him twice at common stores and then later got to tag along with my dad at a luncheon for a charity he was supporting. Amazing man. At the beginning of games when they announced the starting line-ups. When the lights went down and that iconic music started to play, the chills would start... when they got to the last starter and you heard those famous words, and now from North Carolina, a 6'6" guard.. MICHAEL JORDAN!! It was deafening, you thought the roof was going to collapse and not a hair on anyone's body was not sticking straight out.. everytime I was there it was the same feeling.. Biggest chills moments in my entire life.. one of those had to be there moments. Never been equaled.

You could trash talk him...but it would only go bad for you. He elevated his game and played so hard all the time. Never took a game off. It's pretty insane, isn't it? As much as I love debating sports/athletes, there's no debating this one. Michael Jordan is the greatest athlete of all time, across all sports around the globe. Part of me wants to add "so far" to the end of that, because who knows what the future holds in that regard, but I find it incredibly difficult to believe that we'll ever see anyone eclipse Jordan on that. I really hope the NBA starts trending back towards that late '80s/'90s/early '00s style of play, because basketball has never been more fun to watch than it was throughout that era, and everything seems to have gotten much "softer" about the game lately. Maybe we'll get to witness a player who unanimously challenges our opinion of who the NBA GOAT is. Wouldn't that be fun? 🤞

I watched Mike play during his prime. I followed his whole career from his rookie year until he finally really retired. There has never been and probably will never be, a professional athlete that was as great and special as Michael Jordan was. Not only was he so incredibly talented and could do whatever he wanted on the court, but he also had that intangible thing. That je ne sais quoi, something you can’t wrap your hands around or give a name to but you knew it was just a once in a lifetime thing. Michael was ferocious, determined, intense, almost psychotic with how competitive he was and he was like watching the ballet during a basketball game. So smooth, so graceful, poetry in motion. He was the ultimate WINNER!!! There have been a couple people who came fairly close to being as good, but nobody has really reached that level. Kobe Bryant was the closest. But still wasn’t as good as Michael. I still watch games from the 90’s with him because even after all this time, it’s still so special to see him in action. He was and is a super hero! He changed the face of the nba, he changed how people got paid for sneaker endorsements and there will never ever be another Michael “Air” Jordan. Even if there comes along an athlete that can fly and do inhuman things, Michael was and always will be, The Greatest of All Time!

I completely agree with you. I also think Kobe was a distant 2nd to MJ. There have been players who might have been more athletic, more talented, and even more charismatic, but none of them had the whole package like MJ did. This generation can say Lebron is the goat and they would be wrong. Lebron is talented and athletic but doesn't have the drive, competitiveness, or decision-making skills that MJ did. Lebron can rack up points upon stats upon years, but if you gave me $10,000 to watch a game now with Lebron in it or I had to pay $100 to watch MJ live in his day, I would pick MJ every time.

Amazing time to be a basketball fan. Watching him play was always special, and quite frankly, if you were a fan of the team playing him it almost always meant you were getting an L that night, minus a few select teams. The thing I'll always remember about MJ was how hard he played every single play. Those games were always so much more intense. The best way to describe him was what a fan said one time, he was "poetry in motion."

He is the reason I started watching basketball at age 9 in 1989. A young girl from Texas who fell in love with his Airness! Loved the tongue hanging out, his theme song "Be Like Mike" and the amazing starting lineup music. I cried when he retired in the summer of 1993. I think people forget that his father's murder really did push him to that emotional place of not wanting to continue basketball without his father. He came back almost 2 full seasons later and the very next season he dominated another 3 peat! Just wonder how many extra numbers would have been there had his dad not been murdered. I just think that a footnote needs to be added when people doubt he is the greatest. I've seen him play and it was truly the best game I watched in person ever! I have also been fortunate to see Kobe play in his prime as well. He was also an amazing player. Make sure you guys visit during the NBA season October-MidApril to catch a game! So much fun!

There was never a fiercer competitor in all of sports than Michael Jordan, he was completely obsessed with winning, in every single game, regular season or play-offs, 20 points up or down, on every single possession, offensive or defensive, working like crazy on both ends of the floor. And he was also incredibly talented and had a great work ethic. Put all of that together and you have the greatest basketball player of all time.

I was here in Portland Oregon, when The Portland Trailblazers had a chance to draft Michael Jordan. At the time our team needed a center more, due to the fact we had two good guards, but the player we drafted was Sam Bowie who had leg injuries straight away, and never lived up to his potential. Looking back, we should have taken MJ and traded either or both of our guards. The thing is MJ made a comment, he only wanted to be drafted to an east coast team, and so that didn’t make our people happy either. In 1990 and 1992 we were reintroduced as both our teams went to the playoffs, And ironically, Scottie Pippin, who was MJ’s right hand man, played on our team late in his career.

Growing up in Chicago during the Jordan Era... there is just no way I could describe it. The most recognizable -athlete- PERSON on the Planet, and he was ours! That's how Chicagoans felt about MJ (still feel that way!) We loved him and appreciate everything he did for this city! I almost never missed a game at that time. When the Bulls started winning Championships, that's when things really picked up. His popularity, as well as his professionalism, were at an all time high, and it was a blast to have lived through it!!

i grew up during this era in chicago as a teen, to be able to watch these games live was simply electrifying!! streets filled with celebrations and no, you could not see a blade of grass at the ceremony, i was one of them :) . jordan stood 6'6 and loved baseball before basketball. after his dad died who always supported him he tried to do something different, to walk away. but when your that damn good you simply cant leave.

Michael was in his final 2 years at UNC when I moved back to North Carolina and started watching ACC basketball. I've still never seen anyone who comes close to him. He had such style and skill. I was lucky enough to see him play in Greensboro - close enough to see that tongue when he was making a shot. The best player ever.

I grew up watching Jordan and every kid pretended to be him. No player has ever even came close to being as great as him. He was one of the best defense players in the game, he was incredibly accurate at shooting, and his dunks were unmatched. He also had such a great innate understanding of the game and how to win. He played basketball like a master chess player plays chess. He sees the moves way before they even happen. There were so many times that he would score over half of his team's points. He was also very good at passing the ball, even though he had a reputation for not doing it as often as other players. He was very hard on his teammates. He pushed them really hard to be the best they could be, but he pushed himself harder than anyone else. He was also very gracious. He never claimed to be the greatest, even though everyone knew he was. He gave credit to his teammates and his coach, and never took the credit for himself. He also mentored Kobe Bryant. He treated him like a brother. A great man all around.

Saw him play in '93 at Washington D.C vs. the (at the time) Bullets. It was the game referenced in the "Last Dance" where he had a bone to pick with LaBradford Smith. I've got actual film pictures from that game. It was an amazing experience to see Jordan and that team play.

Watching the games in real time.. is unexplainable. Not because he was as good as he was, but when they needed those buzzer beaters or by half time where down by 12 and it looked grim. You knew in your heart he was gonna do it. It was like a fairy tale. And he made his whole team better it was so incredible to watch

I saw MJ live maybe 10 seats away from the court during the 72 win season vs the Hawks in Atlanta. I thought I'd be amazed at his jumping ability. No. He was SO FAST....your brain couldn't process what you were seeing. He spun on Blaylock and went baseline for the dunk and I had to watch the replay to see the spin move. He was unbelievable. Dropped 34 that night. I got to see the Babe Ruth of 🏀.

I grew up in Chicago and had Bulls season tickets from 1984 to 1995 and watched every home game in person to include playoffs and finals games. In fact, during one of the championship final games in Chicago, my sister got a concussion and couldn’t make the game so we gave a ticket to a random kid on the street who had never seen a game in person. So his first game watching Michael Jordan in person was watching Jordan win the finals MVP and another Championship. People were celebrating and flipping cars over in the streets. Scared the heck out of me.

No one else bothered him. The next year, no one could get near him. He was a phenomenon. I’m not a Bulls fan, but he was without a doubt the best basketball player ever. I grew up a fan of the Detroit Pistons living across the border in Windsor Ontario I had the luxury of seeing Jordan play on 3 occasions live. While at the time I hated him because of the early career rivalry I knew when watching him, this guy was the best ever. Nobody since has given me the chills the way Jordan did. Long live the G.O.A.T. My brother and I watched MJ as kids. We would emulate his game winning shot against the Cleveland. During middle school everyone had his shoes - Jordan 5 and Jordan 6. He defined the childhood we had. When he retired my brother and I looked at each other and said and wondered how were we going to watch basketball ever again! MJ retired! He was what made the NBA and basketball for us and I would say for most of everyone during the late 80s and 90s. Best time ever! Just to note I grew up in PHX and am a lifelong Suns fan, he is the GOAT, no questions asked. I still wear his shoes to this day and am in my late 40s

Jordan loved baseball and discussed leaving basketball to play baseball even before his father was murdered. That event was the catalyst or impetus to push him toward it as baseball was his father's favorite sport and he did it partially to honor his memory. The year he won his 4th championship (when they won a record 72 games) the title was won ON father's day and was the first time he'd won since his dad died. Quite emotional and I guess fitting that it happened on that day.

I saw him win a championship game against Utah Jazz, when the Utah announcer was saying that he had "passed his prime". What I saw was that he made all the other players look like they were standing still when he turned it on. Jordan had this ability to change into hyperspeed at will, from standard speed. I saw this and was amazed. I will never forget it.

If you never seen it than you have not seen Larry Bird. Passing was unreal, he was a true sharpshooter and just look at at his fowel shot percentages, A true team player, always gave all and played to win, his leadership on the team was unmatched, and his showman ship although reserved was something to see. Was the clutch player of all time and is also widely known as the #1 trash talker to date but can and did back it all up. Maybe watch... Making The Case - Larry Bird. 😉

I saw him play once when I was a kid at the Spectrum in Philly against the Sixers probably even before the first 3 championships or maybe after the first at the latest. It felt like everyone in the arena was there to watch Jordan even at an away game and you could feel the buzz every time he scored. Getting to see him dunk a couple times in person is something I'll always remember.

Jordan in his prime was unbelievable to watch. He was so smooth and was always thinking 3 or 4 steps ahead of everyone on the court. Size didn't matter with him as he was 6' 6" and was dunking on everyone. This includes the biggest guys on the court that were over 7' tall. He could get it done on offense and was a tremendous defensive player as well. Players today still try to imitate what Jordan brought to the court. Jordan would be even better in today's NBA and would average 40+ points per game.

Watching him back then it all seemed so normal even though no one else could do anywhere near what he could do. It wasn't until he was gone did it begin to sink in how much of an anomaly he was. The rings, the shooting percentage in the era, the 9 all defensive teams, the scoring titles, the MVPs and dpoy season in the same year, the some odd 9 seasons with 82 games, the record vertical, the fade away, the unprecedented fame, the elevated numbers in the playoffs. Even the flu game seemed more ordinary than extraordinary, extraordinary would've been him not playing. A lot of greats will credit MJ with their love of basketball but I truly think he scared more people away from the game knowing there wasn't a chance on Earth anyone could play like him. He made all the greatest players on earth look very ordinary and he still does.

Growing up in the 90s with an idol like Michael was truly special. The OBSESSION and the love that so many people held in their hearts for a single player is unmatched. It's almost emotional to look back and watch him in these videos. Michael drew in a lot of people who otherwise probably wouldn't be fans of basketball because of how great he was and even back then I felt like there would never be another player like him. People will try to debate that other basketball players today could outplay Michael but he will never be beat. He was a phenomenon and a living legend.

I saw Jordan play the Kings in the early 90’s I was wearing my Jordan’s and full NIKE warmups…we were all there early to watch him warmup. It was so packed! My brother put me on his shoulders so I could see. I remember watching him, it was silent and slow motion. As he jogged off the court he looked at me and said, “nice kicks!”. I bought those shoes again as an adult…it’s the only shoe I don’t wear. I hope to give them to my kid one day and tell them the story. My favorite part of this video was watching your son. This was every child (me included). I watched Air Time and Come Fly with Me about a million times. Not saying a word or blinking…just mesmerized. Watching every move he did and then I’d run outside, lower the hoop and practice all those moves. He influenced my life and any child that played sports in the 90’s. I have golfed with him and watched him play poker in Tahoe. He’s equally competitive in everything he does. That’s how GOATS are!
