Nice to see you’re still alive, Courtney. I know this video doesn’t have anything to do with this, but I figured I’d let you in on some exciting info you might like. Since you enjoyed your first game during your USA trip, the NHL is planning on playing a couple of preseason exhibition games in Melbourne in late September (Los Angeles Kings vs. Arizona Coyotes). It might be worth making the jump over from NZ so keep an eye out on more details.

If you manage a road trip around the US, and the timing is right, go to central Nebraska in late March early Apri... you would love the crane migration. And there are a few touristy things to do too, like Pioneers Village

Also, Arizona has towns called Snowflake and Santa Claus. In Michigan you can visit both Paradise and He'll. Both are towns in Michigan. #5 is incorrect. New Jersey had women's suffrage from its inception in 1777 until the early 1800s, long before Wyoming even existed as a State. #33 is also incorrect. New York was not the first capital of the US. New York became the capital after the current US Constitution was ratified in 1788. Prior to that, while operating under the Articles of Confederation, the capital of the US was Philadelphia. In 1791, it was moved back to Philadelphia until Washington DC was built.

You definitely SHOULD come to the U.S. with time enough for a road trip... There are LOTS AND LOTS of quirky, goofy, small-town and some outright freaky attractions dotted ALL OVER the U.S... Just plan on making more than one of those road trips! No need to burn out before you even see half of them... haha More people should know about the Statue of Liberty and Pulitzer... He wrote an article about the Statue, and challenged the country to take pride in being ONE country altogether, that no single city or state should have to bear the entire brunt of financial responsibility when the Statue was going to symbolize ALL of us... AND it started one of the first ever Crowd-sourcing campaigns. People were sending in envelopes with pocket change in them!!! Homeless were putting together a little spare change to send in, and the mailroom at the newspaper HQ couldn't even hold all the mail TO PULITZER ALONE for months!!! SO everybody chipped in what they could spare, and the Statue of Liberty was funded. He's also THAT Pulitzer, the one for whom the famous "Pulitzer Prize" is named... on this very account. I'm not far from North Carolina (right on the border with Tennessee in fact)... SO I know about the frying pan... There's a "Country Doctor Museum" just outside of Raleigh-Durham, too, complete with exhibits including all the amenities of the age of horses and buggies, and housecalls... little black bags and everything... You might find the story of Duke University (in Durham) interesting... They're known for the "Blue Devils" in sports, in spite of originally being "Trinity College" and founded primarily by Methodists. BUT they adopted the Mascot of Blue Devils and the name from a French Alpine Light Infantry unit known for guerrilla warfare in the mountains in WWI, Les Chasseurs Alpins, aka "les diables blues" colloquially. AND have fun with the constant squabbles about "Duke Blue" versus "North Carolina State Blue"!!! Those two schools (yes, NC State is another college) have been arch rivals forever... haha AND there's just tons of small factoids and background stories about different organizations and the weird twists of fate that led this country bit by bit to become the weird and frequently hilarious place that it is... ;o)
