Heeeey I marched in this show haha. I was in the drumline. Very cool seeing your reaction to this! Have you considered reacting to a WGI Indoor Percussion Ensemble? The video titled "2019 - INFINITY WORLD - MULTI-CAM" is one of my favorites and could make for an EPIC reaction!

Need to watch Crown's 2009 show "The Grass is Always Greener". I believe the 2010 show is a continuation/ add on of the 2009 show especially at the very end when the guy is dressed in all green. Someone correct me if I'm totally wrong. P.S. the 2009 show is one of my all time favorite drum corps shows.

It’s more of a re-try of it lol. That’s why their horns were gold, because they were sad they didn’t win in 2009 and were hoping the judges would take the hint.

Fun (ok, not fun at all) fact... Near the end of the show the corps hits a company front (a big line that marches forward). On finals night one of the horn players leg bones snapped on that move and he went down in severe pain. He tried to get up but he couldn't and members of the staff jumped out of the stands onto the field and ran over to help get him off before it became dangerous for the other members. One of the guys that helped carry him actually ended up breaking his ankle in the effort. The audience was in shock. It was one of the scariest things I've ever seen happen during a performance. Luckily his set was on the far side of the company front, because if he had been closer to the middle they would have had to stop the show. DCI edited all of this out, mixing their semis and finals performances together, but if you look at the last bit of the show you can see a hole in the drill..

Matt Stryker sure would’ve been a tragic disaster but at that part in the show it’s really a point of no return moving into the closer, especially finals night like as bad as it is I guarantee they would’ve had to continue as best they could

I was also there for that and was sitting right in front of the guy. When he tried to get up u could plainly see the leg was snapped in two below the knee and looked like he had two knees. His adrenaline was so high he had no idea his leg was so badly broke. The absolute worst boke leg I ever seen!

Big Carolina Crown and DCI fan here! So the reason they suggested watching 2009 first was because it's actually a duology! It's called a Second Chance because starting at the company front at the end, it's changing the ending from the year before - in 2009 the girl waves goodbye to the guy in green instead of following him. It's the idea of "turn left" - if you went the other direction, what different outcome would you get. Highly recommend 2009 if you can find it - the two of them together are really magical! I feel like you'd really like 2007 as well - it was when the brass started to really shine!

little history of this show. Basically in 2009 Crown had the crowd favorite show but juuuust lost to Blue Devils. They didn't seem to agree because they wrote this show basically to spite the judges. They play music only from 2nd symphonies or 2nd movements, they switched to gold colored horns, the show was actually titled A Sec2nd Chance, then that rewind sequence was them turning back to 2009 where they then play an exact replica of the previous year's final 20 seconds of the show (including bringing out the green guard uniform who you see run off into the tunnel at the end). The irony of this show was that they basically wrote it to complain that they should have won in 2009...but they ended in 4th lol

The Crown is kind of like their "signature" on a show. I'm pretty sure they work it into every show at least in modern times, not sure about the earlier years. but they aren't the only ones with a signature. You actually commented on it with one of the Madison Scout shows that you liked the shape :) that's their crest which also usually makes it into the show. For myself personally my high school mascot was the "Northstars" so we would have a Star in our shows somewhere.

When you said "this is groovy," that is from the piece Danzon No. 2! It's originally written for orchestra and premiered in Mexico in 1994! It was written by Arturo Marquez! Here's some program notes: Arturo Márquez is one of the leading composers of contemporary Mexican art music. The son of a mariachi musician and the grandson of a Mexican folk singer, Mexico’s musical culture enveloped Márquez from his earliest days. Following in the family tradition, he became a musician as well, studying piano, violin, and trumpet. At age sixteen he discovered his ultimate outlet of musical expression, composition, which he studied at the National Conservatory of Music of México in Mexico City, the Taller de Composición of the Institute of Fine Arts of México in Mexico City, with Jacques Castérède in private lessons in Paris, and at the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia. The distinct sounds of the Mexican dance salons, which Márquez knew so well from childhood, became an important influence on his mature work. In fact, he is best known for a series of compositions based on the danzón. One of these, Danzón No. 2, is so well loved it has been referred to as a second national anthem for Mexico. Márquez provides this account of Danzón No. 2: The idea of writing the Danzón No. 2 originated in 1993 during a trip to Malinalco with the painter Andrés Fonseca and the dancer Irene Martínez, both of whom are experts in salon dances with a special passion for the danzón, which they were able to transmit to me from the beginning, and also during later trips to Veracruz and visits to the Colonia Salon in Mexico City. From these experiences onward, I started to learn the danzón’s rhythms, its form, its melodic outline, and to listen to the old recordings by Acerina and his Danzonera Orchestra. I was fascinated and I started to understand that the apparent lightness of the danzón is only like a visiting card for a type of music full of sensuality and qualitative seriousness, a genre which old Mexican people continue to dance with a touch of nostalgia and a jubilant escape towards their own emotional world; we can fortunately still see this in the embrace between music and dance that occurs in the State of Veracruz and in the dance parlors of Mexico City. The Danzón No. 2 is a tribute to the environment that nourishes the genre. It endeavors to get as close as possible to the dance, to its nostalgic melodies, to its wild rhythms, and although it violates its intimacy, its form and its harmonic language. It is a very personal way of paying my respects and expressing my emotions towards truly popular music. Danzón No. 2 was written on a commission by the Department of Musical Activities at Mexico’s National Autonomous University and is dedicated to my daughter Lily.

Maybe a longshot...the drill formation at 4:46 (also the formations at the closer lol)....what does it represent? I know it's profound symbology. It's in pretty much all the serious/critical shows (Boston SOS, Bluecoats downside up, SCV Babylon, Cadets Angels&Demons, Crown Out of this World, Relentless, E=mc^2...just to name a very few.) I think I can see general theme and symbology for it and it's variations in some shows (like a wishbone/divining rods shape where reading it left to right is 2 lines turning into one or the other way around - generally death/despair/ending or life/wellbeing/commencement I think depending on it's direction )....but wondering if there is a more specific name for it or what it represents? There's gotta be some discussion or intrigue with it lol I can't be the only one that thinks about this nonstop ha - clearly it's an important symbol for existence as it's close to, or a portion of, the infinity and hour glass shapes.

I'm pretty sure the "Crown" is their trademark and they do form it in every show. I know this is not where you take requests, but because of you affinity for the patterns that the marchers form, I think you would really like Ohio State University's standard pre-game performance that they do for every home game. It includes their entrance down the stadium ramp onto the field, the performance of their fight song, the performance of the school's alma mater, the performance of the visiting team's fight song (something very few other bands do) and their intricate signature move called Script Ohio. I'm not even an Ohio State fan, but I have always found this pre-game show to be quite entertaining and one of the best traditions in college sports.

I know you don't typically react to music videos, but this is military oriented. It is called the Warrior Song. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooXWZ5RmhLeXh7c There are several versions but the one I attached is one of the shorter ones. If you don't do a reaction video, I hope you at least take time to watch it. I believe you will love it.

Guys, Ik I’ve been commenting about this in every video for a bit. BUT WE NEED TO GET HER TO WATCH WGI!!! It’s soooo amazing, it’s like DCI, but with just the drums and other mallet instruments, it’s so great and I think she’d love it!! I don’t have money to do the guaranteed request, so let’s get some traction here!! PLEASE REACT TO 2018 RCC, or 2019 Broken City, two of my favorite shows ever!!!
