New Zealand Matariki 2024

What does it mean to me?
“The reappearance of the Matariki stars in our sky each year marks the beginning of a new year, and in recent years has become a time of celebration, not just for Māori but for many people across Aotearoa,”
“Because the date of Matariki changes each year depending on the appearance of Pleiades in the sky, we have established a Matariki Day of Matariki celebrations.”
It a celebration of a new beginnings. The brighter and clearer the stars seemed, the warmer the growing season would be, ensuring a good harvest.
This video showcases some of the Maori words relevant to the celebrations and words personal to my own experiences.

Thanks i have got another version with Stan Walker singing but the quality of the video is not as good as I had to use another platform to add the song but I will put it here too to see how it does in comparison to this version.. And another thing I accidently left Stan Walker tribe off the video. So I felt a bit uncomfortable about that. So on one hand we got the good Video but not very good music. The other one excellent song but the video degraded. Take your pick.
