New Zealand probe exposes decades of abuse by state and faith-based groups

An independent inquiry in New Zealand found that state and religious institutions failed to prevent the abuse of hundreds of thousands of children and vulnerable adults over the last seven decades. CBS News' Ian Lee has the details.

So including the others where it was neglect and the ones who never came forward to report, a working guess could be an appalling atleast 50% of dependents in that system were abused. The ones who werent directly targetted would still have some degree of traumatisation. For several decades this went on & on despite the occassional outbreak of courage to speak up. So here we are 😢

The inquiry failed to extensively address the reasons children were put into state care due to the ethnicity of the majority of its victims. My belief is that the intended purpose of the inquiry was to manipulate blame away from the people initially responsible for their children's safety and wellbeing -The parents and / or guardians of the children.
