Well done for passing and congratulations. I passed my restricted test earlier this month in Auckland, My examiner was professional and friendly and we chatted throughout the test about all sort of stuff (apart from the directions), it was quite different to this test and he took me on 100 Km/h roads and ask to perform a high-speed lane change. I think there was not even a one minute he's been silent. lol I've noticed the whole test is based on points and the examiner is just ticking boxes in his iPad during the test whenever we complete a manoeuvre.

For everyone in the comments saying they're a bit nervous or anxious about taking the test, I'd say, just act as if the instructor is a lifelong friend..picture them to be.someone your most comfortabl with, also, in NZ some instructors if not all, allow a support person BUT the support person has to be quiet at ALL times! If they talk, you get failed instantly

aww good luck!! i have mine at the end of this month (28th of march) so nerve racking, Im doing my test in Hawera as I recently moved there. my anxiety is v high about it even though i still have weeks to prepare and have a few more lessons. I believe in you gorgeous! you got this! best thing you can do is try to pretend that your either driving alone or with someone your close to and trust!. you got this! fighting! let me know how you do!. and your right! if you do fail then its just a learning experience so then atleast you know what to expect for the next time you do it!

very late update, but i passed my test about a month or so ago! my best advice is to take some deep breaths beforehand (trust me, it works), and drive as if the test person is your instructor. i did this and i passed with flying colours :) also, remember that its okay if you fail the first time. don’t let it discourage you! if you do then make sure to check the email they’ll send you with your results and what you need to work on. use this as a “cheat sheet” to fix the things you did wrong. i’m wishing you all the best of luck!! the freedom feels great once you pass

I went for my restricted last month in my hometown and failed because another car had swerved in front of me (they were supposed to give way to me) but still failed. Plus the driving instructor was strict and not in a good mood that day. So I went to a different VTNZ at a another place! Hoping to get a different instructor. But guess who walks out..... When I did the parallel parking my instructor told me to turn around, instead, I drove straight ahead 😂 but that’s not a critical nor minor error. @@DL-do4vl I passed! 😄 I just tried my best to be calm and really concentrated on speed, checking mirrors/blind spot, indicating. Got 2 critical errors - parallel park was too far away from curb and didnt indicate out of a roundabout 😆 not as scary as I thought haha you'll be fine too! 😊

Sonu Roka hard to explain the route but it starts by heading over to the airport and you cruise around the industrial area for a bit, parallel park is there, then you start heading closer the the mount, and in and around the houses round there and i also got taken over the bridge and along cameron road, but theres a few different routes they can take you on, i think theres 4 is what my instructor told me, best tip is to make sure your checking your blind spot on every lane change and over exaggerate every mirror check so they can see you are actually doing it

@@kieran562 Thank you! I did it in Dunedin a few months ago and I failed. I did this one in Gore and honestly it makes huge difference. The instructors are way more understanding and Gore is much easier.
