I make tacos de nopales all the time. I get the nopales from Marta's Backyard. You can also make a salad with the nopales. Nopales, diced tomato, onion, cilantro aka coriander and pickled jalapenos. Then you put all this on a tostada shell with salsa and a squirt of lime.

And omg that pork belly! We haven’t filmed many pubs- we filmed at NZ’s oldest pub when we were on our camper trip- the food tends to be pretty traditional- bangers and mash, burgers, steak, nachos 😆 We love a good pub though! Showcasing hidden gems is always super enjoyable. The pork sando was definitely a 10/10. Damn. But what the heck is “Mac Swine Mayo” (on the American)? 😆

Many hidden gems over the years... *gas station* Once worked in a sprawling technology and corporate business park. Lots of restaurant options towards the city but on the other side in the middle of nowhere was a gas station that had a couple of cooks and a deep fryer offering only four items - fried chicken, fried livers, fried gizzards and fried potato wedges. That’s it! No slaw, no Mac n Cheese, no baked beans, no greens, nothing. Soooo delicious and always busy; 90% were coat and tie types. I went there twice a month. 😆

*golf course* Also worked near a small public golf course that offered basic yet super tasty burgers. We regularly went there for cheeseburgers and fries. Coworkers looked at us a bit sideways when we headed out to “golf” for lunch.

*strip club* Yep. Another regular lunch was at a gentlemen’s club. Not really! 😆 It was a taco cart in the parking lot of a strip club. 😆 Fantastic (and cheap) burritos and tacos. The ladies who owned the cart were independent and secured a busy location. Good for them. They were always asked how they ended up there and I’d be lying if I said I remembered but I’m sure I inquired.

Was it 3?! 😆😍 I really was blown away by all 3 spots- it was such a fun one to film. This one took about 6 hours to film- so maybe an hour or two at each spot. It depends how much kitchen time we get access to etc. We’ve been so lucky to meet awesome chefs and restauranteurs who get what our vibe is and what we’re trying to create with CAP! you guys visit some really good places but you give the Worst plug 🙄 no location just the region like Auckland...that's it and some times a name but never consistent 🤦🏾‍♀️ a name and location/address would be so great and the addition of a rough where abouts like if its around the corner from a known landmark etc...we as the viewers would appreciate it and no doubt the establishment would too seeing as many let you in behind the scenes
