Well - this overnight boat in Doubtful Sound may have overtaken The Catlins for the title of my most favourite trip in New Zealand so far. But hey - you guys already know, we love the water. Thanks for watching!

Doubtful Sound is definitely the better option in my opinion. Less of the noisy tourists, very similar scenery and still one of the best places to visit (New Zealand, that is)

So pleased you did Doubtful Sound. Most folk only dscover Milford. Both are great but the less frenetic pace in Doubtful Sound is advantageous for experiencing the atmospherics. IMHO!

Omg went to Doubtful Sound for school camps from Invercargill 30 years ago. Live on Australia now but can't w a ut to go back. Very beautiful 😊

The water is black in colour from all the fresh water picking up the tannins from the trees in the bush

We did Milford Sound in the sunshine and wish we had rain. The waterfalls weren’t nearly as full and boastful as they were at Doubtful Sound after rainfall. We’re from British Columbia - we are very aware of how rain affects landscapes & waterfalls & makes them much, much more lush.

@@nickandraychel You have obviously never been to Yosemite in the early summer, from park opening to early June. Give it a try, because if you like waterfalls then you will not be disappointed, and it doesn't need rain as the falls are snowpack melt fed. It is definitely better in the blue sky sunshine. And it's significantly closer to BC than NZ.
