Sup family, Polynesians are Islanders, both the same. But yes, we speak English here in NZ lol, but we all have our own cultures and languages lol but in NZ, schools are taught in English without getting into specifics. But you should watch 2 vids at a time but yeah, what you are seeing a mostly High Schools from the biggest Polynesian city - Auckland. Yeah, we love to laugh and dance, we get serious too but its all good vibes first, thats what we all have in common, be that we love laughing, music, dancing and FOOD!

NZ is an english speaking country. That being said, there are 3 recognised languages here. English, obviously being 1, the Maori language of the Maori people who are the indigenous of NZ, and NZ sign language. NZ is a melting pot of people from different countries, ethnicities and cultures.

Polynesians are considered Polynesians or Islanders, either way its the same thing. 11:08 No we ain't considered black and because the amount of Islanders we got around here, if you're black (African) you would most likely be hanging with us anyway so in saying that basically your one of us. A bit of knowledge on Poly people. It is said that Polys were once the best navigators of the sea. There's a chance we made contact with the Native people of america before christopher columbus even step foot there. Our Melanesian brothers and sisters (also Islanders) are the closest to your appearance and funny thing is they are understood to have migrated out of Africa 400,000 years back. A lot of dna has been mixed between our Islanders so for all I know is we would all be placed in the same boat. Hope this helps

Black people in NZ blend in just fine lol. Everyone in NZ is treated the same, no matter the colour. I think thats one thing Nz is proud of. And we do not get many african americans, most of the blacks here are straight from africa. Most groups being of ethiopian, nigerian, and Rwandan descent.
@YungHandz706

We prefer "Black American". "African American" is a propaganda term that helps us seem like African immigrants and White Americans as the "true Americans", even though they of majority West European descent. We ain't from Africa.

we have prom but its called ball and its usually not held at our school but more like our school rents out halls and you go there. Also college and high school is the same thing here its jst called different things depending on the name of the school like De La Salle College is a high school. Our school vibes are always lit no matter what school and everyone does the things in the video no matter what race (if your comfortable) usually the teachers care but if your teacher is cool or its more at the end of the year (semester) they would usually let us slack off. Falling on the floor is funny and if you go on the floor everyone hypes you up. Overall NZ is AMAZING and going school in nz is an EXPERIENCE everyone wont forget. There are some rivals against schools and there is usually a fight or two but other then that its soo good. Islanders and Polynesians are the same and considered the “black” people. The maoris and islanders/polynesians started the population. Everyone has a good time in nz no matter the day. We speak english in school but usually at home we speak whatever our culture is which is usually tongan or samoan and our national languages are Maori, English and NZ sign language. most people speak english. Even at clubs its good vibes throughout the days.

Nz language is English and Māori (who are the first people's of Nz) as well as Sign. The reason Māori and Islanders (who are both Polynesian people's) seem to vibe with Black people I think is because we love a good vibe, love to dance, love music, love food and I think because we have and do go through similar struggles, we connect 😁 love it. Māori n Islanders (Polys) are considered black (though we're brown) but black by the White people here and Māori use to get call N word back in the day lol they prolly low key a few white people who still do but, racism is everywhere I guess.

So basically the Poly cultures are like this New Zealand people are mostly white. The lower percentage of people are islanders and Maori. Maoris were the first people of the land they speak te reo. The white people stole their land and make up the majority. Over the span of 100 years Islanders recently came to New Zealand island or country for a better life. This includes Tongans, Samoans, Nuians, Tokelau, Kiribati and etc. All countries or islands (not to be confused with the group of islands made into a country) have their own unique cultures and languages similar to each other because of ancestry. In New Zealand, most people in their second or third generation lose their ability to connect with their culture or language. This includes all islanders and Maori, however, Maori have more of a chance of learning their language and culture from local Maraes (which are places for the courtyard of a Maori meeting house, especially as a social or ceremonial forum.) But Islanders who don't speak the language still participate in Haka or polyfest and events to embrace their culture. Also the islanders in the islands not far from New Zealand still speak their native tongue as well as some speaking English.
