Hey bro, in 2024 PR points system is changed. So I wanted to know, the 2yrs spent on post study work visa would be counted with 3yrs spent after that on PR to make a total of 5yrs required for citizenship? Also time period on study visa is counted in presence for citizenship?

You can apply with 170 but they are currently only picking over 180 .

Depends on them , if the applications are lower than the number they are expecting they’ll lower it . You can still apply and wait for them to accept the EOI or try and gain 10 points somewhere ? Are you applying from Auckland or outside ?

Good high paying positions are available for finance grads if you have right skills and connects while you do your masters . And in march 2023 its 6 years now But from april 2021 to april 2022 i was out of nz for 1 year .but in the requirements i had to stay in nz from last 5 years continuously.so just wondering do i need to wait another 5 years for citizenship thanks

Hey Nirmal, it looks like they count years backwards from the date of application, so the year you were out would not be counted its been explained here as an example www.govt.nz/browse/passports-citizenship-and-identity/nz-citizenship/requirements-for-nz-citizenship/presence-requirements/ Best way would be to go to any CAB ( Citizen advise Bureau office) they are in most libraries and are very helpful . www.cab.org.nz/ I actually visited them for something similar . Citizenship is Minimum 5 years after residency is approved . First resident visa depends on your application , I’d say people get it In first 2/3 years of coming here .
