Correction: The Maori did not give the right to power and sovereignty the crown the Maori agreed to sign because the Maori translation of the Treaty(Te Tiriti o Waitangi) ask the Maori to give the Crown guardianship and governship over its Britian citizens. The Maori agreed on on the Maori version's condition but the english version says sovereignty which Maori chiefs did not agree on.
