Never got anyone to play co-op with me, but I absolutely loved it! And it birthed the Wesker Project, so we got Revelations 2! I hate that REV2's co-op was local only, nobody else I knew played it. Awesome video dude!

Re5 is god tier but only because of co-op, I don’t think it’ll be a bust if a remake excludes co op but it’ll definitely be a sad day

Great video. I agree RE5 isn’t perfect, but definitely still holds up. I played it for the first time in 2020, and had a bunch of fun. The main reason I feel this doesn’t need a remake compared to Code Veronica: you can’t accidentally hard lock your game.

You know what I find hilarious? The RE4 remake was awesome, but it seems all people are talking about now is 5. Is 5 getting a remake? When 5?? etc. It’s funny because RE4 is meant to be the best game ever made, the one people never shut up about, and 5, the one living in 4’s shadow, is the talk of the town. I’d love to see 5 get its resurgence. 5’s in a unique position, it’s one of those games that as many people love it as hate it, RE4 bias accounts for a lot of its criticism, lol even “Shinji Mikami bias”, fans are weird. If this one got released in 05 and not RE4, it would be labelled the best game ever as well. RE5’s biggest crime, other than the dodgy AI, was that it came after RE4. RE5 is in my top five, the combat and co-op is peak. Story is fun, Chris and Wesker are badass. I play it often and it’s always a blast. I must admit though, I finished it feeling it never quite matched the hype. I just expected more depth, and the trailers show a game we never got, one that I fully believe would have been better, that unfortunately must have been far too ambitious for the PS3/360. The final product, on the surface, seemed to be RE4 in HD with some control updates. That didn’t make it bad, it made it great in fact, but it’s that paradox. Should they have fixed what wasn’t broken? Is too much of a good thing a bad thing? Over time I understood and appreciated it more for what it’s going for. It’s very honest in its intent, it’s trying so hard and it’s kind of endearing. It just has so much heart, it really does, perhaps the biggest of the series. Remake or not, i’ll always return to the original, it’s a flawed but absolute gem of a game.

I definitely agree that RE5 isn’t perfect! The way I look at it, is that it isn’t a great Resi game, but it is a fun game in general! I’ve never played it co-op, which I know would greatly enhance the gameplay, and probably change my opinion on it just a little bit! But even playing with the horrible AI companion, the game is still pretty fun!
