I never understood why EWR sends 757s for a 40 minute flight. But I think it connects later to a longer, more further away destination.

I believe this flight was headed to Dublin, IE later on

That’s usually the case, though for that kind of departure with a 757 it’s likely it was going to San Francisco. The Dublin flight usually leaves Dulles earlier than 7 pm. Could be wrong though.
