We sit there, enjoying the chaos while laughing in the face of the storm saying, “You can’t get me!” It really is amazing, and often I find myself wishing to go back to the time as a child when I could stare out the window for hours because nothing else mattered.

Wonder why no one ever records storms like that? I live in north Ga. And we get what mother called heat storms with exactly those sounds and I look forward to them every summer. When I was homeless I lived in my car. On cold nights, the rain was comforting. Didn't know how many times I'd hear the comforting sound of the rain on the car. Didn't realize I would miss it. A few months ago I put this on for some background noise and it had the unexpected effect of calming my very anxious 14 year old dog. It was the only thing that would settle him when he was feeling anxious and restless. I turned it on for him every night and periods of the day too. We unexpectedly lost our sweet boy today and I just wanted to say thank you for providing him with some comfort in what turned out to be the last few months of his life. It even helped him today when he was trying to brave the pain. I just turned this video on for the first time without him and I’m now sobbing for what feels like the hundredth time today but it didn’t feel right not to play it for him on his last day on this earth. I don’t know if I’ll be able to revisit this video for a while but if and when I’m able to, I’ll always think of him how he was when he was listening to it: peaceful and sleeping, beautifully content. Wherever he is, I’m sure Marley is resting with this as his background music. So thank you. 💖

This takes me back to camping with my dad before he passed and in my sleep i dream of our trips sometimes when i wake up i realize I’m an adult and he is gone but it doesn’t make me sad because it’s like I get to spend a weekend with him again even if in reality it’s only 5 to 7 hours of me sleeping.
