The US President and the FBI Director can wear a US flag in the form of a lapel pin to an official meeting as an expression of support for the country. There is no justifiable reason why a US citizen cannot hold a small US flag in a council meeting as a sign of support for the country. Bret Royle, an attorney at Feldman Royle, represented Rebekah in the criminal case. The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression represents Rebekah in her "federal lawsuit", filed on Sept. 3. The lawsuit challenges the Surprise, Arizona, city rule that forbids people from criticizing government officials at city council meetings. After FIRE’s lawsuit, the city ditched the rule.
