Saying that the Carlisle service is via Hexham seems a bit pointless to me, because there's only the one route!

This is the 12:00 LNER Azuma service to Edinburgh Waverley calling at Peterborough, York, Darlington, Durham, Newcastle, Berwick-upon-tweed, Dunbar and Berwick-upon-tweed. First class accommodation can be found in zones 1 to 3 standard class accommodation can be found in zones 4 to 9. This train is formed of 9 coaches.

Nice video! Particular things of note is that LNER don't use the same broken '5 coaches' that some other TOCs use. They are also using the same 'zones' set up as GWR rather than Avanti. Good that she can say the stops to Whitby, she couldn't at Carlisle earlier this year, though 'Horden' sounds like she just used her phone to record it! Generally her newer recordings sound a bit deeper, less shouty and posher than her original ones, i.e. the one about catering.

Thank you! Tbh wouldn't be surprised if she did just use her phone at home to record Horden since it would be a COVID secure method 😂

Listening to this compilation (great stuff by the way!) makes me wonder if it would be wise to invest in a bespoke text-to-speech solution featuring this lady’s voice going into the future. The decidedly different sound to her voice and the recording quality when saying “Horden” - a new station outside Peterlee - sounds awful and you can tell it’s a new recording spliced into the system, but having served Network Rail’s portfolio for so long, her voice is almost iconic and nobody else would sound “right” - she was replaced in Manchester Victoria and I still can’t get used to it!

If we're going with text to speech we should go with Jon Briggs 😉

Typical LNER. Unprepared. I feel bad for the people from leeds- Wakefield on LNER. Admittedly you can take northern and it's probably much more cheap but still it's kinda dumb

Chathill is definitely in the top 5 useless stations in the UK. Look for it on Google Maps and you'll see what I mean
