I took my 11 year old girl to PIB last summer for the first time (day trip), and she had a blast! I'm planning to take her to KI this coming summer. I'm hoping there are as many cool attractions, including a bustling downtown area with souvenir shops, restaurants, ice cream parlors, etc. Any suggestions (and please don't tell me to stay home, LOL)?

kelleys island and put-in-bay are polar opposites. put-in-bay is loud and obnoxious. the main island is like a 4 month long spring break that unfortunate people attend well into their 30's. your child probably has more agency and will power than most people on the island at any given time. kelleys island seems to have more of an emphasis on nature and family. there's a certain indescribable esoteric value throughout the entire island, kelleys island is something of actual value. definitely go. you will surely spot the obvious differences between the islands and there is a lot to enjoy.
