there are 3 types of business people, entrepreneurs, managers, and both. entrepreneurs come up with an idea and start a company , managers can take that business and make it successful , the rarest is the combination of the both. even is the first generation is both, the next isn't. company's get sold and dissolved a lot of times because of this. labor costs, supply, and sales change and the company disappears. It's a shame. Newell is one of the holy grails of fishing reels. great video, thanks

I have one N221 old. I never used it for fishing. Old fisherman told me that Newell are weaker that Penn reels. Unless it has aftermarket aluminum body/frame

I guess you have to define weaker. It is stronger than the Jigmaster or Long Beach reels which it would compare to

They are rare to find these days and you will pay top price when you do find one. These reels are saltwater classics, so you would be more likely to find them on the coasts - Thanks for asking - Dennis

Hey Dennis great video. I have a Newell S332-5 and am missing the side bearing and adjustment housing. Any ideas on where to find replacement? Thankyou

That is going to be hard to find. Check Ebay first and then vintage reel collector sites on the internet. There are no sources to purchase a new adjustment cap that I know of but Cortez conversions may have that part as well
