How much do you know about Newell and what we do here in Miami, OK? Take a couple minutes to hear about us from Karl Blade, Grant Kernan, and Pat Dwyer.

Newell, you are the gold standard! My family has always been an RV Family, owning Blue Bird Wanderlodge coaches and Prevost conversions in the past, but once you get into a Newell, you realize really quick that Newell is head and shoulders above the rest! The quality and ride is second to NONE! Mr. Newell started an amazing legacy of quality.

What allowances do you make for those of us physically challenged or disabled? Can you produce a coach without quality or design compromises in 35 foot lengths with 20,000 tow capacity? My family’s has been in the Timber business since 1892; and I would be interested in using out Southern Yellow Pine, Oak, wild Walnut and other interesting species found occasionally in the woods. RSVP as I am recuperating and training like those wounded warriors with whom I have taken fishing. Would it not be nice to travel with a squad comfortably barracks to fish in’ holes round the USA.

NEWELL COACH .......Do you ‘actually’ build your OWN chassis or is it a ‘Prevost Chassis Conversion’ and similarly are the ‘SLIDES’ & their mechanisms your own home made or are they ‘Prevost’s’ OR ‘VALID’ builds please......thanks in appreciation of a reply!? ;-).
@NewellCoachCorp

Yes - We actually build our own chassis from the ground up. Our chassis start as tube steel - built from scratch! Our coaches are designed and built to be a motorhome, NOT a converted passenger bus. We do use Valid slides, and we believe they are the best in the business. Its what allows us to have so much more headroom and flat floors throughout. Thanks for your questions!

Newell Coach ....Many thanks for your reply and re the steel used for the build of your base ‘ladder’ chassis and tubular body frame is it of ‘STAINLESS STEEL’, as used by Prevost or ‘other’ please advise!? Thanks for the info on make of slides!

Rodney Ife If you drive or stay in a Newell, a Prevost conversion won’t stand up! Newell will build it to YOU! Not just a conversion like Marathon or Featherlite that build it from a Prevost bus frame

Newell Coach How can these things be "coaches" but not "buses"? What is really a "coach" then?

So just a thought...if Newell is the “premier” coach on the road today, how come all music entertainers, actors , politicians, sports teams, the FBI, Secret Service, various world govt leaders, all use Prevost conversions year, after year, after year and outsell Newell probably 20-1? I think they were the “official” coach of Nascar back in the late 80’s and early 90’s. Oh and I’ve never seen a Newell on any forum or msg board or for sale on the various sites with more than 150-250K miles on them, vs Prevost routinely can be found with 6,7,8,9 hundred thousand miles or more and still maintaining their value. And why aren’t there dozens of conversion shops dotted throughout the US taking Newell chassis and either converting or retrofitting them into various applications like there are for Prevost ? Also, are there many service centers around the US other than Miami Oklahoma because on the Newell website Prevost and their service center locations are listed for repair work sites for Newell coaches. Prevost doesn’t list Miami Oklahoma as a repair site on their web page...just curious. Keep up the good work.

Hi Warren. Typically the entertainer types lease their coaches from a number of companies that specialize in quick retrofit, wraps and provision of drivers etc. There are significant tax benefits for leasing in those instances but it does not fit Newell's business model. Newell has never gone after that market nor has Newell ever been the "official coach" of NASCAR (although 15 of the starting 40 at last year's Daytona 500 are Newell owners as well as several team owners and support staff). This difference in business model will also account for difference in mileage seen, the vast majority of Newells are used as a motorhome rather than a business. Newell's business model also does not provide for building conversion chassis to other companies, the company is designed to build one off, very high end custom machines for select clients around the world. I hope this helps answer your question!

Elite Soulfly you obviously have never had to drive, live in, or work in and around both Newell or Prevost. I have, and let’s just say that on their best day, with all factors accounted for and functioning, Newell is a C plus compared to the converted Prevost. Newell users rarely see over 100k on mikes and simple see the units parked at campgrounds or racetracks and not events and therefore never actually “use” or operate the Newell’s functions. Sure they look good parked all setup, but when it comes to logging serious miles, daily setup and tear down and year end month in month out all season use....there is no comparison. Newell simply looks pretty parked at the racetrack. That’s it. They “look good” as opposed to being world class touring machines built for four season coast to coast to coast and then back to the other coast again all in one trip, touring. If Newell were a baseball team, Walter Matheu would be their coach and his daughter would be pitching, and Prevost, well, they would be wearing pinstripes and play in NY! Sorry, but there just an extremely OVERPRICED RV. A camper, bolted (loosely I might add) to a truck chassis with fancy paint jobs added to jack up the price. Never be worth the money like Prevost are.

@@dewskilowe Hi Dewey - Everyone has their favorite coach, which is fine, but some of your information in this thread is inaccurate. To clarify a few items: 1) The reason you don't see a Newell converted chassis in the market is because Newell doesn't sell a chassis to third parties. We build our own proprietary chassis and body specifically to be a Newell motorhome, not a passenger bus. We do not sell an empty chassis as Prevost does. And we have never, and will never use a truck chassis on a Newell. 2) We agree Prevost makes a fine chassis. And several converters produce a beautiful product. However, we believe our Cummins engine (605hp vs 500 Prevost Volvo), active-steering tag axle, higher payload capacity, innovative driving cockpit, and numerous other features make the Newell a compelling choice for the luxury motorhome market. 3) While we do not have company-owned service facilities across the country, we do have a large network of RV facilities that is nationwide. In over 50 years of business, we have developed some great partnerships with reputable service centers that help us take care of our customers. Additionally, Cummins and Allison both have extensive service centers across the country for any engine or drivetrain issues. 4) We have Newells on the road from the late 60's, 70's and 80's. Many are usedby full-timers for years and years. Mileage has never been an issue with a Newell. I would venture to say that the average RV enthusiast who purchases a Newell puts no more or no less mileage on their motorhome that one who purchases a converted Prevost motorhome. Certainly a Prevost PASSENGER bus would be putting more miles on, but I doubt there's much of a difference in the motorhome mileage. 5) You are right about one thing...These Newell's do look good! 6) You really had me LOL regarding the Bad News Bears analogy.

@Dewey Warren. The reason you see Prevost bus conversion units used by the customers you mention, is as simple to explain as this: If you want a car that just gets you from point A to point B, you buy a Chevy. If you want a quiet, luxury car with power to spare, rides smoothly, and is elegant, you buy a Lincoln or Cadillac. If you drive a semi-truck (as a 'company driver') you drive a Freightliner. But, if you're an owner-operator who values a powerful engine, smooth ride, and low cost of maintenance, and longevity of equipment, then you buy a Kenworth or Peterbilt. If you want a simple bus chassis, buy a Prevost. If you're ready for a real RV that rides smooth enough that you don't feel 'beat up' after 700 miles of driving, then you buy a Newell. Hope that helps you understand the philosophy behind Newell's commitment to quality.
