Thanks so much! I've still got a few videos to finish up from last year but I should be releasing this series over the winter. Cheers!

@@wvadv thanks so much! Crossing Newfoundland using the old railbed sounded like a way better idea than it ended up being. We had a couple tough days but overall it was a great trip. Cheers!

Yessir! Great to see you’re back, and with a few stories and vids to share. Those are quite the wipeouts, glad you didn’t get seriously hurt, like you said, the good gear must have helped. Cool video, and like everyone else, looking forward to the trip vids! Cheers, and be well!

Yeah, I may have cried looking at my bank account after buying the Rev'IT DIRT Series gear but I'm so glad that I was wearing it on those two wipeouts. Cheers!

I, too, just returned home from the NL Trailroad trip on my klr650. Ferry to ferry, west to east, all on trail. The "Gaf top sail" (silly name) section was a bit of a drag with the overgrowth. But the trail is not all doom and gloom. Just got to be comfortable on loose gravel, stand up, and have your witts about ya. Average 72kmh over 4 days. Wonderful wild camping spots along the way, on beaches for 3 nights. I don't take vid, or very many pics, so I'm looking forward to seeing what's upcoming.

@@larry710 yes, you did it the right way. The T’Railway should be treated as its own thing where it’s all that you do for 4-6 days. No set schedule and camp however far you get each day. We were trying to use the T’Railway as a launching pad to a bunch of other stuff we wanted to see and after the Gaffs section we just decided that getting to the stuff we wanted to see was more important to us than the challenge of completing the T’Railway. I hope you enjoy the videos when they’re finally released. Cheers!

@506motoadv Yes, it would be stressful having hotel reservations. Being my first time, I wasn’t too sure what to expect. I know now that next time, I can easily make excursions off the trail. West coast and Labrador next.

good review , I almost lost my phone with the sticky quadlock , Phone feel between my legs lucky after a bump on the asphalt ( quebec road) , rock strap the best for problems.....love the launch on the second crash ... good thing that was not a tree. cant wait to see your video .... I use DJI camera but not the mic. as long as you have fun.... Alain & Yellow

No trees on the trail really.......but alder bushes for miles. I have a set of every size Rok Strap that I bring with me on every trip. They always come in handy. Now that I know the glitch on the Action 4 camera exists I should be able to work around it and they've recently released a firmware update so hopefully it's been addressed. I'll definitely be testing it out before my next trip. Cheers!

Has this been a wild season or what? That spill in the gravel, I had the exact same wipeout, but the bike went completely into the brush. We should go for an ultra chill weekender trip when the weather cools. I'm pumped for the videos man. Cheers.

Oh, I launched myself into the alder bushes at one point. The opening clip of this video was Jason and I dragging the bike out. Hahaha I'm taking the Monkey to the Magdalen Islands on the Labour Day weekend so that should be my chill trip. Cheers!

looking forward to the videos.....I have an 8 inch for nav and used the stick on mount....quad knock off.....cleaned the tab with alcohol....non drinking kind.....and put the mount on and weighted it and left it for 24 hrs.....will need a pry bar to remove...20220klr 650....since sold and looking at a 300 myself...the bike was really heavy this year...must be my age. Yeah, I'll try another stick on mount. I honestly think that I just didn't get a solid application on that one. Luckily the tablet was just sitting on my fairing when I noticed so no harm done really. Cheers!

Looking forward to the vid(s). Not a fan of the trailway. I enjoy the first few miles alongside the water but once the alders start to close in and the ruts deepen, i'd rather be somewhere else. Looks like you may have mirrored (pun intended) the damage Itchy Boots suffered in her 60k wanderings. Which tablet did you settle on? I put the 8" Ulefone ruggedized on the RT and so far no issues but i'm not using the quadlock system for it. Cheers from Sussex NB!
@506motoadv3 ай бұрын
I went with the Ulefone rugged 8” as well. It works a treat, I just need to do a better job applying the universal Quadlock mount I think. My final thoughts on the T’Railway: It’s doable, but not really enjoyable. There’s too much to see in Newfoundland to waste your time staring at gravel and alder bushes doing everything you can to stay out of the dreaded berm. If someone wants to do the whole T’Railway they need to go into it with the understanding that it’s all they’ll be doing for 5 or 6 days. No set schedule. Camp however far you make it each day. Once a section slows you down and you’re behind on where you expected to be it’s hard to mentally get around that. Again, it’s doable with the right amount of time and there are some views worth the extra work……but if you only have a week in Newfoundland on two wheels, don’t waste it fighting the alder bushes. Haha Cheers!
