I am happy you enjoyed your visit to Fogo Island. I live here and I love it! But it's crazy in the winter!

I was offered a contract to teach on Fogo Island in 1972. Did not go, but always wondered what it would have been like. Thank you for the tour.

Another awesome video guys , glad you enjoyed Fogo, I spent many nights there over the years working (didn't get to stay at the Inn, only got in there to work ha ha )

Thank you! We would have loved to have seen the inside. It’s a neat looking building from the outside!

@@MandMtravel83 yes its definitely a different design. It was during a closed period when they weren't open for guess due to some internal reservations that I got to go inside to install equipment, but the first thing that stood out to me as different was upon entry there was a wood stove burning ha ha. They do at times have tours , but catching the period is difficult.

Summer 2022, we spent 4 nights at the Fogo Island Inn. I can tell you, for a fact, it's much more than $2,000 per night.

Great to see that Fogo island is worth the visit! We weren't sure if it made sense to spent time there as our time in Newfoundland is somewhat limited but I think we're going to the island. No reservations for the ferry can be made from what I understand?
@MandMtravel83 Жыл бұрын
Ya we tried making a reservation the night before we knew we were going to go there and they said it was first come first serve so we showed up at the terminal an hour before it opened to wait in line to make sure we were able to get on.

What does screeched in mean?
@MandMtravel83 Жыл бұрын
It’s a Newfoundland tradition for tourists. You drink screech (a type of alcohol) and you have to kiss a frozen cod fish

It's a ritualistic ceremony for mainlanders to be an officially welcomed citizen, into Newfoundland society. It can be an over-the-top experience, but all in good fun.
