Hi Darrall: Thank you for leaving a lovely message and taking the time to share with us your beautiful story. I am a proud Newfoundlander and know all to well about missing home and access to the taste and smell of my mom and dads homestyle cooking, the childhood memories of yesteryear. Both of us lived away for over 30 years and our children are not from Newfoundland but we raised them with a Newfoundland culture. Enjoy our channel and message any time if you have a question or would like to share a story. God bless and stay safe. :) Thank you Bonita

Hello from New Brunswick! My mum is from Cape Breton and her treat was sour cream and molasses on fresh bread. Not when it was warm but “day old” bread and I still love it till this day. About 1/4 inch of sour cream and then drizzled molasses eaten with a fork and knife. Yum yum. So happy to find your channel. I subscribed immediately. I hadn’t made homemade bread in years until a few months ago. I was scared to for some reason but I’m so glad I did. I appreciate so much that you demonstrate in such detail. You’re a pleasure to watch.

Bonita, I made your Multigrain Bread and added 2/3 cup of sourdough starter and decreased the yeast. Instead of 3 loaves...I made two loaves....2 pound each in my Antique Tins. The Bread is delicious. I made my whole grain mix: 1 cup seasame seeds l c oats 1 cup wheat germ 1 cup wheat bran 1 cup pumpkin seeds 1 cup sunflower seeds 1 cup cornmeal. I put all of this in a glass jar in the refrigerator and use 1/2 cup and 1/2 cup of Bob Hills 7 grains. I keep my bottle of grains and when I make the multigrain I add it to my recipe. Your recipe with my tweeks was delicious. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Bonita. I couldn't sleep. Got started with bread at 4am South African time. That's pretty early for me still dark. I followed the recipe. I learnt from another Baker to put boiling water in the oven and the dough bowl above to proof. With the oven off. Worked very well. Now last proofing waiting to go in the oven. Thanks a million. Love yeast baking. Lots of love. God bless you and your family during this trying time. From sunny South Africa.

HI BONITA! I hope you are having a wonderful day. I was out of bread and I usually make wheat for my husband but he is taking a break from all the carbs. I love this white bread recipe! I was a little under the weather so I used the kitchen aide. I mixed the dough with a wood spoon then my hands till it came together then mixed on #2 for 10 minutes. It works beautifully. I added fresh chopped rosemary. I love white bread! My tip to your viewers is to mix with the spoon and your hands till it comes together. Then put on your dough hook and you won't have flour flying all over, lol. I cut the recipe in half so it fits perfect! Thanks again!

Don't be afraid! The 1st time I made bread with Bonita I watched the video, got all my ingredients together than made my bread along with her. I paused the video when I needed to and it was easy! And working it with your hands was so theriputic! With the pandemic I was a total shut in so I had time. But it is the only bread that we eat now. I don't think I have bought a loaf in almost a year. When I found hers it was perfect. And I freeze the bread to! It holds up well!

What a beautiful fine texture your bread has! I will definitely make this recipe. Thanks for the tip of cutting a cross in the dough so you can see the bubbles and texture of the dough. Very helpful. Also, I will certainly use your tip for softening the crust of the bread. I prefer soft crusts, too.

Evening, Bonita... I've been making our own breads for many years, too. Like you, there's something special about working with dough, and yeast. I've learned a couple of good things just now, watching this. Thank you. I see you didn't knead your dough as much as I always do? I usually will knead for about 15 minutes, although I let it rise only one time before shaping, & then baking. Maybe by letting the dough rise 3 times like you do, I can get the same nice "Crumb" without having to knead as much? This is a perfect formula for a good all-purpose white bread, and I'm going to try this, this week. Appreciate, and next time it's on to some toutons & molasses!
@bonitaskitchen4 жыл бұрын
Hi Dave: I'm so glad you enjoyed our method, I do mix it for 10 to 15 minutes and knead in between for only a minute. It is just really to release the air and let it rise again. The beginning mixing part is by far the most important part. But the last rising DON'T release the air of the dough only cut and form the dough balls to rise in the pans. Please let me know if you enjoyed our recipe and thank you for stopping. Bonita

Bonita...thank you so much for this great video. Due to the Kovid -19 there seem to be a shortage of bread when I went to the grocery store today. So figure I was going to attempt to make some. My first time doing so. I want to my my Kitchenaid but not sure how long to knead it for. Would greatly appreciate your help.
@bonitaskitchen4 жыл бұрын
Hi Joanne: Thank you for your message and that is a great idea to make it yourself. If you make it with your hands you would knead it for 5 minutes, but the kitchen aides are more powerful so go half of the time. Just for the mixing time and blending it all together. Remove it from the hook and then fold it to a ball, and cover with a towel to rise. Then from that on it is only with your hands you work the dough and then put in the pans. Please watch our video and read the recipe so you are comfortable making the dough. Enjoy and stay safe. Bonita
