They were ignored one time (the only example of mistreatment brought to the huge over blown labor meeting). None of this was for them, it was all MHJ's manipulation for them to fight for her. She knew they were demanding to leave HYBE if she wasn't reinstated and she formally left HYBE a week before the given deadline, basically making their demand meaningless, and giving them no options to stay away from this huge legal battle they are about to face.

There are several groups that have fought actually bad conditions, particularly slave contracts, and even then, they were blacklisted from the industry. The most well known case was TVXQ, and two of the members stayed with SM while the other three tried and failed to make a group together called JYJ. The thing with NewJeans is that the only person to exploit them was MHJ herself, none of their other claims are remotely serious, particularly in Korea. The courts also already decided Ador and HYBE are separate entities as well, so they can only go after Ador, but MHJ was the CEO until September... so their claims of mistreatment would have to have nothing to do with the instances mentioned so far. Ador couldn't possibly have done something since September to breach their contract, so... I don't know what they're doing, but their lawyers better be as good as they think they are...

They tried to go after a members image and ruin their future and the fact that by that action every single member put in a lawsuit against them and only a few were able to make it out straight away shows that it was not just payments they had issues with. I think the fact that none of them are really speaking up about their experiences is cause it was not all about the money. Blockberry did not have the privilege of being a huge company and like I feel bad for these girls but their version of "mistreatment" is just not the same. ADOR can argue in court that didn't violate the contract because - 1) NewJeans made unreasonable demands, including a demand to hire a former employee to a position of power and asking them to make demands of employees not working at ADOR 2) they declared in their press conference that they didn't meet with ADOR 3) NewJeans declared that they're terminating their contracts before the deadline, which was technically before the 14 day deadline

These girls are younger than my eldest son and their youngest is just a little older than my second son… as a mum and a fan um so proud of their wisdom, maturity and courage. The music industry is not a wholesome pretty place. It’s political, it’s cut throat, it is soul killing often and the suits wield immense power. To stand up and say to hell with that and to try to negotiate fairness takes gumption. It takes so so so much courage to go against the grind, to stand up against the criticism heaped upon them. There will be those with herd mentality who thinks poorly of them. It’s ok. This is their youth, their life, their future that they are fighting for. They are really smart girls and wherever this takes them, I know it’s a future that is filled with good success. If they come back as a diff name, with a diff agency- great! If they choose to go for their further studies for a spell or pursue careers that’s different- that’s great too. I wish them well and I wish I had daughters like these girls. Those rookie contracts are made to be bulletproof and the industry is like a machine. They are not the 1st or 2nd generation idols. They have made a lot of money on their career so far, and so has MHJ, and they’re probably already lining up investors. And, of course, their new activities will make a lot of money as well. This is long but as a casual K-pop listener, this drama turned me into a NewJeans stan (not "against", rare I know). It's frustrating to see people hating on NewJeans, accusing them of threatening their favorite HYBE groups, when the real issues stem from adults, not these five girls. Many claim their artists faced hate because of NewJeans, yet all I see is blind hatred directed at NewJeans instead. Calling them "bratty," "mean girls," or "career-suicidal" just because they voiced discomfort over an experience is unfair. Sure, their issue might seem minor to some, and they're wealthier than that employee, but that doesn’t invalidate their feelings. They even mentioned HYBE restructuring Ador, creating an environment they no longer enjoy. HYBE’s blatant media manipulation only makes their frustration more understandable and I'm surprised how blind people are to not see it. Their desire to work only with MHJ, despite her controversies, is valid. Their close bond with her is evident, and while HYBE’s resources contributed, MHJ’s creative direction was key to their success. It's not surprising they’d want to continue working with someone they trust. I admire NewJeans for having the courage to leave a major company for an uncertain path, staying true to their bond and priorities. Take into perspective that it was barely 2 weeks into this "restructuring" with a new CEO that New Jeans started complaining about Hybe not listening to them and threatened to leave Hybe if they didn't bring MHJ back. TWO WEEKS. They also refused to call the new Ceo respectfully and at the National Audit, Hanni got the new Ceo's name wrong and had to be corrected. And if their creative direction is a song like "Cookie" their parents should extremely CONCERNED about their daughters being so close to MHJ. We all know what Cookie is referring to.

And she did start up a management company around the end of '22 which has remained dormant (or perhaps that's the label Soojin is on which has been rumored) for when I-Dol leaves CUBE. This would be good timing for her to sign them for a short contract and have some good creative fun while teaching the gals how to do it on their own! Hanni really seems to be taking this situation in hand (with her court appearance and such) and her very strong rebuke here. If they are truly unhappy at hybe and ador i encourage them to speak out but just saying that a contractis terminated doesnt actually makes it terminated, thats literally why contracts EXIST. And you cannot still get all the money and investments from hybe and continue to claim you’re done with them. That is literally not legal and thats why contracts can be bounding & restricting. As much as they are newjeans, I don't think they realize who created the concept of "newjeans" itself. Their style, their vibe, their music, and everything. They are most definitely the front, but the back people definitely created it too. Leaving is such a double edged sword. It's either bravery or carelessness. Companies won't just hire them because of their talent. Some might even think they're too difficult to work with. I loved their music and I wish all the best to them. At the end of the day, with all the drama surrounding them I guess there wasn't any choice but to leave really.

JB couldn't even keep his name as is, changing it to Jay B was a way around it. This is a completely different situation. Every company will be on the side of HYBE and Ador, and honestly a lot of fans, too. Because what do you think happens to the whole industry if there's a precedent where rookies can just up and leave whenever they like?
