Westerners sexualising everything and assuming everything is a sexual innuendo is a very western mindset problem. Koreans thought the lyrics were cute and innocent. Their minds wasn't quick to assume such things because in their language it doesn't refer to any sexual innuendos. So if you have a problem then maybe it's time to re-evaluate why you jump to conclusions and believe that 14-year-olds would openly sing a song containing multiple sexual innuendos. If Koreans don't feel uncomfortable foreigners don't have any business judging the English translation of a primarily KOREAN song with KOREAN lyrics.

I get triggered whenever asian culture gets twisted by western listeners. In the song 'Cookie', bake in Korean is 'ppang gubgi'. Burning CD in Korean is 'gubgi CD'. Both use similar sound of 'cookie'. That's why a cookie roll in at the beginning & a CD roll out at the end. Cookie in asian culture simply means baked dough. It is no fault of Koreans that it carries sexual undertone in the western culture. Just like Korean 'nae-ga' means I. It is no fault of Koreans that it sounds like the 'N' word used in the western culture as slur against black people. People bashing NewJeans are either ignorant or opportunists wanting to eliminate them from competition against other rookies. The world is a better place when people stop looking through coloured lens.

So yeah, the youngest is 14. Good on your for catching the lyrics. While I've definitely seen innuendos in kpop, I don't think it's ever been with someone this young and quite so... I mean, these type of innuendos seem more raunchy than even other ones we've seen. Like they were almost barely innuendos at all. To me it was right up there with Blackpink's Ice Cream. The comparison to a "lite" WAP is pretty on point. Some people wil say it's a misunderstanding, but I'm pretty 50/50 about it, because the creative director had rumors about her before this song even came out... like she has a bunch of lolita references on Instagram, we're talking seeing the naked back and sexual poses of very young girls on her walls. Now yeah, some are considered artistic, but like in a way where it reminds me of people defending Woody Allen for his "artistic" choices with young girls.

Note that the majority of the song is in KOREAN. Cookie and other references are "cute" in our language and certain nuances simply CANNOT be directly translated to English since there is no direct translation. I do not understand why English-speaking non Koreans have such a hard time understanding this when native Koreans are literally trying to tell you this. International fans just go off just about on everything and come to conclusions too soon just based on translated English lyrics which is sad. It's not our problem that the English language and westerners see sexual innuendos in literally everything. Our culture isn't the same just like how skin-ship between the same gender is normal here but outside of Korea it isn't. Y'all seriously sexualise just about anything, it's concerning. Oh lord, of course, you English Speaking Gods can tell us to evaluate, judge and correct our culture and cultural interpretation. Thank you so much for teaching and enlightening us about the fact that people in South Korea are so ignorant that they can't read the sexual nuances of 'COOKIE'. Thank God.

The problem is their concept is inspired by Brooke Shields and the lolita concept. They're all minors, so it makes this concept extremely weird. Brooke shields is known as the most sexualized child model, posing naked for playboy, and saying sexually explicit things on commercials at such a young act, she was too young to know it was wrong. Even the newjeans group name seems to hint at her famous Calvin Klein commercial. I love their music, but the lyrics and design choices are weird. In many of the "attention" mv shots, there are many things I found "sus." The creative director, Min Heejin is most likely a p*deophile having naked minors on her ways and saying many suggestive comments on the maknae of newjeans and many other minor idols. The lyrics for Cookie and their B-sides are incredibly sexualized, especially for the youngest, who's 13. Also Danielle, in the MV for hypeboy is dressed inspired by "Léon: The Professional" which is about a 12 yo trying to seduce an old man, that's disturbing. I don't recommend stanning Idols who are younger than 16, because it encourages the companies to debut younger idols because they realize that those fans don't care and continue to ruin these young children's childhoods. Stop praising Min Heejin, just because she's a woman doesn't make her a God, any person can direct a gg as long as they're good at it, woman or not. In the end, Min Heejin is a disgusting p*do and should be arrested. I personally think the parents should've done something at least, but who am I to comment? Bye.
