I always wanted to drive around the Country. I wasn't able to as a Single Mom of 3. I've been binging camper van videos lately and I've been seeing some really cool ones, but this takes the cake by far. My dad had a lifted 4x4 '74 chevyvan with a V8 and 35" tires. I have many fond memories of being a kid and going four wheeling in it. We used to take it to the beach. Across the state. The back had bench seats with a table that converted into a bed. It was red with Marvin the Martian stickers on it. It stood out on the road and was well liked. It was just a cool rig to ride around in that could also do some decent wheeling on trails too. He also installed an air compressor to lower/raise the tire pressure at the entrance of trails. I've always had an inkling to rebuild that van someday when I had the money. Seeing the van in the video really makes me yearn to do it, and add camper components like you did to your rig. You probably would want to take up anything too gnarly, of course, but still, the mobility has got to be great. Especially compared to a regular RV. Lol Great work. And great video editing too btw. Very well explained and recorded.

Cool conversion and well detailed video. As for your braking, the f350 brakes should be more than enough. One thing you can do (which is something I did on my 1999 f350 powerstroke), is upgrade the brake lines to braided stainless brake lines. Any part of the brake lines that are rubber, upgrade to the stainless braided line. You should have hard lines from the master cylinder to the frame near each wheel, then a flexible line to the caliper. That flexible rubber line is what you want to replace with stainless braided lines. You may have issues finding them ready to go, but if you contact a company named "oil filter service" which is located in Portland, Oregon they can custom build you the lines. Another company to look into is frozen rotor. They do cryogenic treated brake rotors. Then upgrade to a ceramic brake pad and do a proper break in procedure. You will notice a big difference in braking performance by doing the braided lines as well as the upgraded pads. Really cool rig!

@@rambojohn4476 TF does that mean? You think anything matters after you're dead and gone? You're delusional if you don't think you'll be largely forgotten. Life is short, it's what you do now that matters.

You really did a great job with this, not just the van conversion but also your presentation. Your camera operator & whoever handled the editing, too, really, really good. Class b RVs are so expensive, it's always interesting to think about building one.

I’ve watched many many many many conversions and this is my favorite so far. I imagine the price from the van to the conversion is probably at least $90K. Sounds like too you have a lot of knowledge too from working at Airstream? Did I hear that correctly? You work 55h a week there? But anyway wow! I do love and appreciate your hard work that went into it! The emergency kit area, to the bathroom, the swivel chair, mattress bed up top! Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
