Thanks for this video. I was considering buying this, but I wanted to be sure that the Apocrypha was included in the facsimile. It is far more beautifully produced than I would have expected. I read the old script quite easily, since I read much German in Frakturschrift print, which is quite similar. I even use Frakturschrift German dictionaries most of the time.

Interesting classic. The gothic print is gonna be hard to deal with. Will you ever devote to learning gothic fluently? I doubt I will. Which do you believe is a better Bible, the 1537 Matthew's or 1599 Geneva (or 1560 if you like that one)? I'm contemplating on getting a 1599.

Although I am not Catholic, I strongly object to your claim that Catholicism was derived from "Pontifex Maximus mystery religions". As a Classicist, I assure you there is not an ounce of truth behind this claim (apart from the fact that Pontifex Maximus was a generic term for the main Roman priest which was later applied to the Bishop of Rome). It sounds like you're repeating the long-debunked claims of Alexander Hysslop, who frankly just made things up in his "Two Babylons" book and cited no sources.

I have the hardback of that one. I'd probably read it if it were in modern spelling, but since it's in the old gothic font and original spelling, it's become a sort of brief reference bible instead.

David Daniell is the editor of a volume called "Tyndale's Old Testament" which has the portion up to 2 Chronicles, which is believed to have been completed by Tyndale at the time of his death, in modern spelling; there's also a volume of "Tyndale's New Testament", same editor, which is the edition of 1534 in modern spelling.

Volcano Bible there's one very small thing about David Daniell's work - in Matthew 2 in tyndale's New testament, David has it this way : "when they were departed, behold the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream saying : arise, and take the child and his mother, and fly into Egypt ..." This is due to how they spelled flye (flee) back in tyndale's day, and I guess David didn't catch it.

Look in 2 samuel 11 : 11 of either the Matthew Bible or the Great Bible for "flat erthe". You won't find it in the Geneva Bible cause the "Genevans" chose to word their Bible differently there ("open fields" is what would be found there instead).

I have studies the 1537 matthews bible alot. Read Romans chapter 6 in the 1537: It confirms to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. When compared to the king james, the king james was watered down with minor words, nontheless still watered down.

Great channel. I just discovered it. I appreciate that you take time to study different bibles. I have a question for you and depending on your answer I may have a follow up questions if you don't mind. I plan on getting this book but does it include the book of Samuel 1 and Samuel 2? I believe the King James Version censored things in Samuel 2 and I would like to confirm it. I am highly suspicious of certain text in the bible being censored. The problem is when I look for Matthews Bible online to read for free I end up getting the Book of Matthew instead. Than when I searched for the Tyndale Bible on biblestudy.com it excluded Samuel 1 and Samuel 2. So I need your help letting me know if it is there. Thank you in advance.

Biblestudy.info should have the Matthew bible. For the tyndale bible, it's not so much that he took out 1 and second Samuel, but rather if you have trouble finding it, then he may not have gotten through it before he was martyred. Textus receptus bibles and bibles-online.net also have the old bibles available for reading. There's also a book about to come out which will compare the difference between the Matthew bible and the ones that came after it. This book will be referred to the second part of "the story of the Matthew bible" aka "The story, The scriptures then and now".

The 1568 bishops bible is where all the changes occurred, when the words were removed or changed to fit the king back then.

Do your own research, but I compared different bible versions on Greatsite, they have old bibles online, anyway the changes to me are made and to me change the meaning.

you can still use the kjv but I use the matthews bible of 1537 and compare. Malachi chap 3 about tithes blew me away.

In 2023, there'll be a new Matthew bible out which is to be a gentle update of mainly the Matthew bible, with other old bibles used when they were more clear. The new testament is available now.
