Thanks so much for this! Please tell us what you mean by “culturing” ghee? I make my own so would like to know if there’s something more I should be doing…
@MarmaladeINFP5 ай бұрын
Cultured goat ghee can be purchased from Mt. Capra. It is quite delicious and smooth. The culturing process breaks down the fat molecules. And goat butter fat is already has smaller molecules. This makes it easier to digest. But I don't know how easy it would be to culture ghee at home.
@jg57554 ай бұрын
You can culture cream by adding a small amount of flora danica cheese culture - you leave it out on your bench for around 24 hours until it smells pleasantly sour and it turns to cultured sour cream. From there you can churn it into cultured butter (and buttermilk) which is much more tasty than non cultured. Not sure how you would culture ghee though as heating it would kill off the bacteria (flora danica is a mesophilic culture so needs low temperatures to work).
@Padraigp4 ай бұрын
@jg5755 I have always wondered why it's called buttermilk which has culture when butter you make at home does have any culture involved..so if you buy butter milk add it to cream let it sit and then make butter would that work.

My point in posting this was too make the point, you do NOT need to supplement C15:0, unlike Omega 3. But there is an argument that could be made that because C15:0 is SO potent and prevalent that you don't need to supplement with Omega 3 at all! At least, not if you keep your Omega 6 low.

The proteins that get damaged in pasteurization are removed from Ghee so it ages well without loading you up with histamines.

What's the point of buying the worlds best Ghee if it's packaged in plastic? Micro particles of plastic going in our Ghee, and most of our food items, Then toxins released slowly from plastic because of hydrocarbons used to make plastic. Most consumers have no idea, yet you wave a banner of a great super food while years are coming off our lives because of most of the packaging out there. @hidearCellofGod I'm sorry, but you have no clue what you are talking about. There are dozens of German videos on youtube of making ghee and I know at least 4 others making ghee with butter bought here in supermarkets. If you have problems don't project it on others. I live in Germany myself and just recently tried to figure out which butter to choose for making ghee myself. My question was which butter has a good Omega 3 Omega 6 ratio. And I realized it's hard to figure it out. There was one source mentioning a list from an environmentalist group which had tested 5 or 6 brands. The bottom line: Kerry Gold from Ireland had a 1 : 1.55 ratio which is very good. All others offered ratios of 1 : 2.5 and some higher than 1:3 and more I also checked for beef fat from Belgium but the ratio was not as good. However during my research Kerry Gold kind of disappeared from the shelves of supermarket for awhile. Latest research had found that many butter manufacturers used to have a certain chemical in the packing paper which is labeled as an eternity poison.

Objective: The present research explored the relationship of vitamin D status with prolactin levels and adenoma size in female patients with newly diagnosed prolactinoma and determination of hypovitaminosis D prevalence among female patients with prolactinoma. Patients and methods: We enrolled 67 female patients with newly diagnosed prolactinoma (41 with micro adenoma and 26 with macro adenoma) in this case-control study at the time of presentation. We selected 45 female subjects as a control group who were matched according to age, weight, height, body mass index and waist circumference. We investigated 25-hydroxyvitamin D, the major circulating form of vitamin D. Results: Prolactinoma patients had significantly lower 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels in comparison with control subjects. Also, macroadenoma patients showed significantly lower 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels as compared to microadenomoa patients. By contrast, microadenoma patients had nonsignificant lower 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels in comparison with control subjects. Furthermore, we found prolactinoma patients with 25-hydroxyvitamin D >20.00 ng/ml showing significant differences in the prolactin levels and adenoma size when compared with those who had 25- hydroxyvitamin D
