Newly Painted Crosscountry Intercity Class 43 43007 at Taunton 16/08/23

Crosscountry 43007 seen at Taunton in its new heritage paint livery to mark the near of the end of these trains in service with this operator.
This is its first journey since repaint on the 1E63 Plymouth to Leeds, 43184 in Intercity Executive livery is also on the rear of the train.

This is art on wheels . The best livery on a hst ever. Although they do look stunning in intercity swallow livery as well. The only thing missing is the sound of a screaming v12 valenta !

A thing of beauty. Being serious, it is astonishing how two 45-year-old Power Cars can wear liveries that are just so much better than pretty much ANYTHING on the network.

The original livery was so good!! So much better than all the crap repaints that have been thrown at HSTs over the years. Look in this vid - the unit looks great, but the carriages in whatever modern livery look very dull. Not everything was crap in the 1970s!

Travelled behind 43007 this afternoon. BNS to Derby. People were photographing it and even the rail staff were joining in. Driver used the horns to good effect!!!

Superb paint job on 43007 however if it did have its original Paxman Valenta 12rp200L power unit still fitted it would have sounded brilliant just like the classic Paxman scream and the roar also of the Marston cooler group would have basically been a real blast from the past of the late 70s and the early 80s 😊

Never seen so many weeds growing in a station. What a mess. Was never like this in the days of BR. MTU sounds crap compared to the Valenta. Ripped the heart out of the HST

First photographed one of these near Barlby in '76 I believe, on the. ' Silver Jubilee ' ,was expecting a Deltic .The East Coast main line was never the same again ! Boring comes to mind 👎
