About Rampart, I think his imprisonment was actually on the up and up. He was arrested in front of the whole Senate, so he probably had the due process rights you’d see in a democracy. He was serving a sentence of hard labor likely handed down by a court that tried him fairly for his crimes. Considering the infamy of his crime; the highly publicized nature of his arrest, trial and imprisonment; and Palpatine still concerned with how things may look to the Senate when they are aware of an issue, there is no way he’s getting a pardon or commutation of his sentence. This means the Empire has nothing to offer him, and I do believe Rampart understands that. Rampart seemed cowardly in this past episode, but to be fair he was way out of his element and unarmed and with a bunch of guys he didn’t get along with. On the other hand, if there is any sort of negotiation, I think Rampart will be much more in his element due to being a social expert.
