Soft life is about living a less stressful, joyful life by setting good boundaries, outsourcing what you can afford to outsource, taking care of your mental and physical health, choosing peace and joy and enjoying the fruits of your labor . The boundaries is the most important thing cause women are natural caretakers and get used and abused the most. I sure hope Demaris has thick skin, because the way the comment section on the past few videos have been eating her alive… I gotta play the Rory role & be devil’s advocate. Some due commented how Demaris is shallow for respecting the “Soft Life” because his mom worked multiple jobs, was a single mom, & took care of the household, which is what he considers to be a respectful living. I don’t understand how people not wanting to work like pack mules for minimum wages that don’t sustain a living, in order to increase the wealth of only 1% of the population, is a bad thing? Them wanting to enjoy life, their solitude, travel, & to even have time for their families is a bad thing? The French adopt some of this “Soft Life” by enforcing their workers to take frequent vacations. In the summer, many places in France look barren because everyone is gone on vacation. Even showing up to work late or taking long lunch breaks is considered to be acceptable & the norm. They try to still incorporate some humanity in the work life as opposed to America. It’s definitely a cultural thing. Because there are many other countries that would be confused as to why Americans are upset about people not wanting to dedicate the majority of their lives to unfulfilling work.

Now although Demaris lost me on the soft life imma give her her flowers for at least being one of the few women to acknowledge that women also do play into Toxic Masculinity. That segment dead made me look at myself especially when she said instead of men being sad we become angry because we deem it as more masculine. I’ve been saying im angry inside for years and now realizing that nah im just sad lmao. Also, notice how most of the men women claim to have toxic masculinity grew up with single moms.
@artificialintelligence01012 жыл бұрын

Mal has done the podcast thing for 7 years, mix that with managing Saint Jhn , he did the ground work, he didnt just come to this world living the "soft life" , Demaris sounds too privileged for someone who is also sitting in the same room as the two men "podding" . Living a soft life means you don’t overwork yourself to the point of burnout, you’re not constantly chasing luxury, you choose to live a balanced lifestyle, and you enjoy living in the moment. It’s all about living a more simple and comfortable life with less stress. It’s not always possible to be stress-free. There will be times of stress. It’s more about limiting things in your life that cause you unnecessary stress. It's not about being taken care of nor is it just for women.
@VERYRAREPROPHET2 жыл бұрын
But see I believe thats where the problem and confusion comes into play. That sounds great as hell but however not only do you have to work yourself to get there first, but the absolute main thing is… That is a fantasy and will NEVER be attainable. Im not a capitalist, I don’t like capitalism however i live in America so it is what it is, i have to, especially as a man, suck it up because people depend on me and so do i. There will never be such thing as a soft life because everything is perspective. Demaris just told Mal that he is currently living the soft life and just like Mal said , he put in the work to get to where he’s at. Alot of folks in my age range strictly only see the result and want it but not knowing what it comes with. Its Marxism all over again, sounds great but wont work.
@nia48422 жыл бұрын
@VERYRAREPROPHET A soft life is attainable. I know people (both male and female) who make great money without burnout. They started in the workforce with great careers and income that allowed that. Some might not see Mal as working two workday weeks for 7 years (for 4-5 hours) as "working to get" to a soft life. They might see him as always working a job that allowed a soft life. He might've worked smarter, not harder.

Soft life: cutting the addiction to struggling and allowing themselves to breathe and enjoy their lives. It's about being an active participant in your life and doing what makes them happy. Less stress, eating better, removing toxicity, and allowing themselves grace is the soft life. It's about handling the responsibilities and still actively enjoying the day to day. We all need this.

So basically, a “soft life” is living like a privileged white woman who’s a housewife that actually does nothing.

@triaverse2 жыл бұрын
No, a “soft life” is one in which a woman is not responsible for being the primary breadwinner as well as the nurturer, nanny, business partner, maid, and project manager. A “soft life” for women is being touted as the antidote for the struggling social justice warrior woman who has to pay all the bills, primarily tend to the children and fight the revolution at the same time.

I mean, there’s part of it where people are just hating.. but to pretend that Jay didn’t benefit of Biggie & Pac dying is somewhat disingenuous. Not saying he was celebrating when the news came out but there was a void open, especially in NY with Biggie. Hence the various King of NY crown references in Vol 1 & 2.

I know they are partially joking at all times but not even being able to fathom someone not wanting to work or thinking about life outside of productivity shows how exhausting capitalism inherently is. It’s embedded into the society to take pride in working that way you are easier to exploit as a worker.

People exploit themselves - Rich Dad
@FreeTheColonized2 жыл бұрын
@@sorcelord65 true when countries development were halted by settler colonialism and they never experienced industrialization because they were being purposely underdeveloped and now they work for a fraction of American minimum wage (which still isn’t enough) for American companies to get by then it must be self induced right? Nobody is exploiting themselves companies are making profit by getting more production out of people than they are paying them. They create surplus value through surplus labor
