This Uhuru-Ruto verbal jabs is provoked by Uhuru, which is very unfortunate being a national symbol of unity in theory. He has failed his leadership test but as we note sycophants like the News Gang are hurting just because WSR has come to hit back punches at Uhuru directly unlike before where it's his allies that used to respond any time Uhuru had thrown a political punch at his deputy. It's not in dispute that our 3rd president the late President Emilio Kibaki has been the greatest and best president Kenya has had. What's wrong in expressing the reality, which is a fact. It's obvious that Uhuru as a president has had a relatively poor performance and leadership. Kenya is very unfortunate in Uhuru's tenure to have a fellow like Atwoly given the status he has shown and claimed to have. It's impossible for Uhuru to hide his face in the circumstances. My beef with Kenya's leadership is that they have a truth deficit and they just want to downplay this and instead opt for glossing over the true story about Uhuru's political behavior.

The "marriage " did not break as such. I hear the President's voice. He had to camouflage to the handshake to enable peace prevail in the country; which to me is a thumb up out of wisdom. UhuRuto was not a match made in heaven but a marriage of convenience caused by Hague. Politics has a different set of rules, where the alpha male lion can be challenged by his own cabs. Ruto saw ahead of time that Uhuru would not keep his promise. Ruto's strategy was clever; simply to accumulate enough wealth and influence as quick as possible. New Kenyan currency notes were introduced as a measure against Ruto's wealth accumulation but it was too little too late. By the time Uhuru realised that Ruto was steps ahead the 1st term was ending and there was no time to regroup, they had an election to win for Uhuru's 2nd term. The hand shake came soon after the controversial win of the 2nd term for Uhuru. To truly govern a leader needs legitimacy, the elections failed to provide legitimacy, Raila afforded Uhuru that.

Uhuru could have picked a different running mate in the August 2017 elections. The hand shake happened in March 2018. It is ironic to ask the Deputy President to resign when you had the opportunity to pick a different running mate. Both Uhuru and Ruto are politicians that is what defines their relationship. When it is all said and done Uhuru has had his time, there is no guarantee that Ruto will win the coming elections. Can you imagine what losing the elections would feel like for Ruto? It is clear that by the time of the August 2017 elections Uhuru had already decided he wouldn’t endorse Ruto for 2022. I’m almost certain that part of the 2018 handshake agreement included succession.
