I think a proposal should be private. A person should not feel pressure to say yes as was done to me when I was young. Only he proposed without a ring.He sprung this on me the first time I met his family. I was only dating 6 months and we were not talking of marriage. He mentioned it to me. After a few months of being engaged and he was getting more controlling I got rid of him. My parents also made me see things I was too young to realize. I thought to say I need to think about it. All his family was starting at me, so I said yes and regretted it.
