NEWS SOUP - Why Development Has Slowed, Stop Comparing WoF Games, Sandstorms, and Admin Dance Emotes

Hey I don’t think a lot of people were getting what I was trying to say, it’s okay to say “I like x game more than x game”, or “X game made this feature better than the other”. Like that’s fine. But what I was telling you all is that some people have been purposefully trying to put the opposite game down, and that should not be happening at all. That’s what you guys need to get from this. People are allowed to have opinions, and I’m not trying to stifle them, just trying to stifle hurtful stuff.

Every Wings of Fire game was created because of appreciation over the books, there is no competition or contest. Everyone’s been inspired by the books and they’ve decided to dedicate part of their lives to showing their appreciation, each game is special and unique in it’s own way, and that’s the best part about them!

Personally, I think it's honestly amazing two creators have enough confidence and motivation to take a break for themselves, work behind the scenes at their own pace, etc. With that said, I don't think people are "haters" or "degraders" for comparing two games. We always compare stuff subconsciously or not (ex: two shirts you want to buy, two movies you like to choose your favorite, or two games who are closley related). When it gets to the point of sheer harassment and purposefully discouraging curators for more content that's when it's a problem, but it's perfect alright for a player to say: I love how the Wings of Fire Team have more cartoony models than The Journey team has realistic! Or another example: I think The Journey has a lot more customization options than Talons of Peace, but I like the quests they add with the accessories! In summary, criticism will always exist and there's no getting rid of it, we're humans with our own opinions and preferences but it's best to keep it in control and be mindful of others!

TJ staff (well; voice actor) here. Having been in the journey for a while now, I constantly hear questions and comments about comparing the game to ea, and such. Archa (tj arch) has even said before they're trying to be VERY careful about release so they don't affect ea in any way, shape, or form. We do not intend to be "better" than ea, we do not have any quarrel w ea. Hell, some of the admins for ea are admins for tj as well. I also believe that archa has said she and arch keep contact with eachother (and all of the other wof games, which is probably very difficult) so that the games can be different. the entire tj staff team is super uncomfortable with being compared with ea, so please stop saying tj is better or ea is better or anything. Just let both games exist, and let all the other games should.

I think I have a theory (don't worry, not a conspiracy) as to why dev has stopped. Several months ago, Korvair's description for her Roblox account said that she was from California. Now, it says she's from Washington. So maybe it temporarily stopped becase she moved?

I believe that most people need to understand that, yes its nice and all that the devs give out these fun updates and were so used to them coming out quickly, but you gotta think about the devs health and mental state, they needs breaks too, its not laziness, its a recharge so when they get back into full gear they are ready and refreshed. Its very disrespectful to call it "Laziness", when they know the devs are taking time off for their own health.
