The Odisha government has revised the exclusion criteria for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) in the state. The ownership of two-wheelers/fishing boats has been omitted from the exclusion criteria.

In a recent press conference, Panchayati Raj Minister Rabi Narayan Naik targeted the previous government for its handling of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in Odisha. He revealed that many deserving beneficiaries were left out of the housing scheme, while ineligible individuals received homes. Naik announced a new survey starting January 24 to identify and include all eligible families, aiming to provide 15 lakh pucca houses under PMAY.
