Basically, Spiderman (or any young male superhero with a girlfriend), where either the girlfriend is constantly getting abducted by the villain, or Spiderman thinks he has to break up with her "to keep her safe", as if a villain would stop using her as a hostage simply because she and Spiderman are no longer dating. Blame comic book writers for overusing that cliché, even though I guess it goes back to fairy tales, where the knight has to safe the damsel in distress.

Because whenever John Jones opens his mouth, 95% of the time he either lies or gives some whiny speech about how everything he did was totally someone else's fault and he's blameless. John Jones _mindcontrolled_ Midas -- the mastermind whose whole psyche revolves around the need to be in control -- he violated Midas' autonomy, made him a puppet of I.O, forced him to attack his own daughter, and then Jones gloated about it! Yes, Midas is very angry about it.
