Governor Godwin Obaseki has raised concerns with the Inspector General of Police regarding an alleged plan by reinstated Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu to force his way into Government House today, September 30th. This development follows a Federal High Court ruling in Abuja that reinstated Shaibu, although Obaseki's administration has swiftly appealed the decision and secured a stay of execution. Crusoe Osagie, Obaseki's Special Adviser, emphasised the potential for chaos should Shaibu attempt to assert himself in the governor's office, recalling a tragic incident where violence resulted in a police officer's death. With the Edo State House of Assembly having previously impeached Shaibu and installed Marvelous Omobayo as his successor, the situation remains tense.
