When they were talking about Ribs and Ella says there's no chorus and the guy says there's no resolution it just fades and she says that's what she likes about it because it's not what people expect. That's exactly why her music transcends everyone else's. She does what she wants.

I'm more of a rock and metal kind of guy, but damn I love Lorde. Her songs are just so well done, and considered. I have massive respect for this girl. I love any music that respects the artform, it's about the passion, not performance, and though she nails both, it's clear that the passion comes first. Great stuff.

I gotta point out one important thing - before Lorde there wasn't that style of singing that you hear now literally everywhere, that kind of voice. When I first heard her after the 'Royals' came out, I was so into her music 'cause this was something completely new. And then many singers started adopting her style of music, but she was a discoverer for sure. So we should not forget about that. She is unique and genuine, and the fact that she's being criticized so much for absolutely stupid things like appearance (she's gorgeous, by the way) , the mv or anything else just proves that she is an outstanding artist.

Pretty damn character strong for a 16-year-old. I was a lot more childish (and certainly not mature enough to write those kinds of lyrics) at 16, even though I consider myself an 'old soul' and quite deep. But Lorde was that at 16 and I am in my twenties. Also, she's never bought into the whole fame thing and gone Britney Spears or Miley Cyrus insane even though she was in it from a young age. Like I said, character strong.

You know, I've grown up listening to a lot of genres of music growing up. I'm 16 years old, so not quite old at all, but growing up I went through a heavy metal phase, although now I'm not that big of a fan. Since I was about 11 or 12, I started to listen to mainly hip-hop and rap music. For the years up until I was about 15, almost all I listened to was rap and I cared for no other genre because I was just stubborn and didn't want to listen to anything else. When Lorde, or Ella as I just like to call her, released pure heroine I wasn't too interested because I wasn't into pop, mainly just rap. Then once I heard her beautiful voice come through the radio speakers, I fell in love. I'm a huge fan, I have a Lorde sweater and two T-Shirts and even have the vinyl record of pure heroine. I have yet to go to a concert but I will for sure as soon as I can. I think that most music on the radio sounds awfully alike most of the time, but Lorde did something different, and I love her for that.

Joel Little and Scott Mclauglin (did I get the names right?) seem like such intelligent, sensitive people to help her on her way, and I guess they did an awesome job. And the dancing - Lorde, what has happened? Saw you at hurricane, and it also was your amazing way to move to your songs which made us such huge fans as we are now. You seemed so shy back then, and now you are so explosive on stage! What ever you did, it was the right thing!
