Chinese organized crime groups, enticed by cheap land and lax growing requirements, are bringing a new wave of violent crime to Oklahoma, according to authorities.
It’s been a race to grow in the Sooner State since medical marijuana was legalized in 2018. Since then, dispensaries and grow houses - both legal and illegal - have popped up all over.

Sooner girl here born and raised. I wish we would've never voted to legalize medical weed. Its done nothing good for our state. The laxed laws we have here have brought so much more crime and trash to our state. Its very disheartening to watch it take course. We went on vacation last year and drove through 5 other states and none of them had the absurd amount of dispenseries that we do. Its become a cess pool. Im ready to get out asap.

I absolutely HATE the weed and the weed stores it is a GATEWAY. A GATEWAY to crime , sex and labor trafficking, lazy and trashy people, if you go to the smallest towns there are at least one but more than likely two but in towns like Sapulpa if you drive in a straight line thru town you will pass at least a dozen . Alcohol has been legal for ever and there are only a fraction of them compared to these weed stores. I wish they were out of business and the people that want to do it would go to Colorado or somewhere else. I have noticed a definite decline in Oklahoma since the legalization of weed and it will only get worse and it won’t get better. Sad. Be honest have you went to town to run errand and NOT smelled it, who knew there were that many people with rare seizures and brain issues? What a joke. Glad to hear that someone else feels the same.

The Chinese mafia bought at least one home in the small retirement/tourist town where I live in Western Washington. They also bought properties in neighboring small towns. They had a massive state-wide raid a few years ago but I imagine they’ve just gone underground.

It’s sad that as an Oklahoman I can’t tell which dispensaries are fellow Oklahoman’s and which are foreign owned. Also this was added to our constitution as a right, it’s not just a simple law to change. You must be an Oklahoman to grow in the state. The law has the teeth to stop this. Law enforcement needs to catch up.

There is a very simple fix for this bs..........LEGALIZE WEED AT THE FED LEV & TAX IT! Works great for us that have legal weed. It really would cut down quite a bit the crimes to do with weed. Just do it! 😂

I get they need to deal with criminals but it’s sus af they are more concerned about this than the record number of overdoses and deaths caused by fentanyl. I guess it’s easier to bust pot farmers than go after cartels who are way more dangerous. Plus they can’t have anything get between them and their legal weed profits. I imagine the asset forfeiture is a huge part of this as well. 🤔
