Of course, I agree that payoffs to celebrities and social influencers is bad policy. Any campaign wins on the strength of its messaging to voters and how well it listens to voters. One thing I will say in recognition of the success of Trump's campaign, he was always pushing his ideas -- take or leave it, this is what he thought. Maybe Harris needed to be more Trumpy in pushing her ideas -- protecting democracy and respecting individual rights. As a strategy, trying to unite disparate views into a middle that would vote against Trump is not looking so good now.
