Typical beat reporter, asking why the cop shot the child instead of why the child had a gun or where his parents were. Then, fishing for anti-cop sentiments from council members.

Thomas Michael "T. J." Lane III,[5] a 17-year-old male juvenile and former student of Chardon, who was a sophomore at Lake Academy Alternative School and used a bus in common with several victims. Lane used a .22 caliber handgun. Lane was soon arrested by police near his car parked outside the school. Lane was ultimately indicted on three counts of aggravated murder, two counts of aggravated attempted murder, and one count of felonious assault.

On August 4, 2019, 24-year-old Connor Betts shot and killed nine people, including his brother,[a] and wounded 17 others near the entrance of the Ned Peppers Bar in the Oregon District of Dayton, Ohio.[3][6][7] Betts was fatally shot by responding police officers 32 seconds after the first shots were fired.[3][8] A total of 27 people were taken to area hospitals.[8] It is the deadliest mass shooting to occur in Ohio since the 1975 Easter Sunday Massacre.

Idk what your saying because there's over 750 mass killings every year , 95% of them are done by black youths . they are 5% of the population and do 55% of all violent and sex crimes. Why does 95% of the country do 45% of the crimes

This is how Tamir rice got himself shot. Even back then the police knew that kids were robbing people at gun point. It was in an area known for criminal activity.

I went to middle school there when the school first opened back in 93 and even then we were told not to wander off property after school if we didn't have to as the area wasn't the greatest, and once I remember being in class when we heard something that the teacher passed off as a firecracker but could have been a shot. It wasn't wholly bad, just not the safest to wander. We had a couple incidents of kids being approached by adults that gave everyone the willies, and a couple times kids got bumped by cars impatient to be slowed down after school when everyone was picking their kids up. If the 15 year old was involved in popping shots off, either at someone else or just passing time shooting things in the area, it wouldn't surprise me. I'll wait for the chest cams and the investigation to pass judgement on the cops.

Bodycam videos? I am suspicious that there is no information between "shots heard" and suspect dead. Were there actually shots? I do not know, but it is a convenient excuse if a police officer confronts someone and they end up dead. I *will* give the officers the benefit of doubt in a close situation, but I want proof it was a close situation and not another case of a police officer shooting his gun because he was "scared".

@@The_Chosen_None_ I think that cops should not be killing people without reason. I have seen too many videos with police executing suspects for no good reason. I am not automatically assuming that the officer was justified anymore because even of he had a gun, why was the teen shot? Americans have a constitutional right to near arm,s, and Ohio even says it does not matter how you carry them. If bodycam video shows the teen pointing a weapon at officers, their actions were likely justified. If he was running away with no drawn weapon, they were not justified. Ditto if he had a gun but was cooperating.
